One of the phone lines on my family share plan is eligible for an up grade. Does that mean the contract for that line has expired? Can I cancel that one line with no fees? My conract as a whole does not expire until 2012.

Look under my Verizon and it will say if it is. OR just call customer service and ask Upgrade date and contract end dates are 2 different things usually because you are eligible to upgrade before it ends. I hope that helps.

To add to nctruthseeker, each line has a separatd contract, just because one shows 2012 doesn't necessarily mean all lof the lines are the same.

"Now that they have told their stories I will tell MINE!" (Victor Von Doom from the 1960's Fantastic Four cartoon)

Okay. So when you sign a contract with Verizon, it is for twenty-four months. However, after twenty months you are eligible to upgrade that line EVEN THOUGH you are still under contract. So...don't be fooled. Chances are you are within that four month period. You will likely begin to receive reminders that you are eligible to upgrade by text, email and stripper gram (one can only hope she is HOT).

Or he may be eligible for the eu online. I've been seeing a ton of those recently and I suspect it's an attempt to rid the company of ne2 discounts.

Yeah. My NE2 is not until June, but MyVerizon keeps reminding me that I am eligible to upgrade now. Very sneaky. However, I plan on passing on the NE2. I don't need a new phone. I have the VX-8300 and the VX-8100 as a backup. Purrrrrrrfect.

Amongst what others have noted, keep in mind that there are other things you could have done to extend your agreement without extending the upgrade date.

From time to time Verizon will run promotions that will renew your agreement without affecting your upgrade date. When I was working we once had a promotion that if you renew for a year you'd receive 1000 bonus minutes. When people did this it did not affect their upgrade dates.

Basically, your upgrade date is NOT your contract end date.
