Text Message Issues
As I stated before I did a manual install of Gingerbread and for whatever reason my phone is totally out of synch. For instance the time was off and I had to reset that. Now my new text messages that come in as new arent appearing at the top of the list. I had to scroll to the bottom of my message list to find the new ones...Anyone have an idea how to fix this?

I have no clue ! I wish I could help you but atleast I won't give you a childish response as don't hack your phone! Comments such as that really bring down this site as too many trolls are laying around looking to start crap.... I bet they rooted or jailbroke their phone as well..... Just too much trash talking for me on this site Sparker good luck to you which phone do you have?
Nope. I practice what I preach. Still (angrily) running around on a Fascinate rocking 2.1 because I don't trust firmware updates, hack or legit. I got burned a few times too many trying to "fix" my BB 9530. I'm totally out of that game and encouraging others not to play, either.
Next week, if there still aren...

Also changed the pin lock screen when attached to a corporate email account. The dial pad is now default for entering in the PIN instead of the swype keyboard. Much more convienient.
Still, I'm just paranoid. I have final exams this upcoming week and the last thing I need is smartphone drama. I'll upgrade my unit next Friday unless something disastrous pops up before then.
Thanks for the input.
A side note, i run ADW as well. do you notice a significant drain on the battery with that program, or is it all in my head?

I used stock TouchWiz for about 35 minutes before I loaded ADW, so I can't really compare battery life.
I will, however, say I got fed up with battery performance in general and put out the extra $50 for the extended life battery.
I used to keep my backlight brightness on 0% and still run dead by 3:00 in the afternoon. Now I keep it on automatic brightness and I can get to 10:00 at night and still have 30% left! Totally worth the $50 and doubling the mass of my phone.
The only other thing I can recommend to you is finding a background image that is comple...

My connections inside VZW haven't reported any real changes except the UI, and I run ADW instead of TouchWiz anyway, so that hardly matters.

Whats ADW and Touchwhiz?

My friend that's not rude. Blunt? Yes. Abrupt? Certainly. Rude? No.
Now had he responded...
Don't hack your cell phone, Dumb*Bleep*!
THAT would have been rude. I've noticed you following CellStudent around making comments and I just think if you like him that much, maybe you should just ask him out instead of passing love licks.
Though I wish I had got to respond to this thread first. I would have said the same thing but added a 😁 so everyone knew I was a nice guy.

Now...most of mine are simply pimp slaps. I won't even lie.
You're seriously a master of the internet pimp slap. I've been a victim myself.
Recently,...most definetly.
But historically,. . . I never really noticed that about you.
I realize you've been a valuable, impartial, productive member of our community since, what, some time last week?
Sparked and I have been talking about this stuff (here, on phonescoop) for years. I didn't have ask the questions you ask because I've known for weeks that he's running a Droid X and recently took the plunge to load an aftermarket operating system. I don't need to ask him to explain things he's already told everyone, as you have.
When I started posting on this board over three years ago, it was after I had already spent over half a year reading the things people say here and acclimating myself to the culture so that I wouldn't come off as an arrogant prick when I decided to start contributing.

Now that is certainly true. Hopefully, he sticks around whether he is a feisty new user or an old one taking on a new identity. If he is willing to mix it up in the octagon I say bring it on!
Yeah guys, I must admit don't just come in and start trouble especially if you don't have a clue as to whats going on, on here. I was constantly coming here reading and reading some more and believe me when I ask a question and get a response of "Yeah, Don't Root Your Phone" I know not to take it seriously. I made the choice to do what I did and then corrected that mistake and went back to 2.2 So with that being said just sit back and relax and read and read and read....Then if you want to participat...

This isn't The Lounge, we like new people here.
Aw, come on man. We like new people in the lounge. The lounge would honestly be way better if you and Azeron and a few others posted there more often. Half the time it's a cesspool of ignorance, and it would be nice if there were more people in the lounge to pwn people.
