Nice article that pretty much combines a lot of the insight I've seen on here and on other sites.

Trashing is not intended. In fact, here's another piece from tomorrow's NY Times Business section:

I admit that there is a bit of a bias to his postings title. When one reads the bottom line Consumer Reports hedges their bet depending upon what kind of consumer the reader is. This user is not a typical troll who works for or is an ardent supporter of another carrier. He is a Verizon customer. All he did was post the link. Also, I disagree with the characterization that Consumer Reports objection is "Only because a newer one is likely coming with 4G"

According to CR there are Drawbacks and Questions to the CDMA iphone.

Drawbacks:

It's middle-aged. " this is a transitional phone to tide Verizon through until the summer."

Personally, I disagree with this assumption. I don't think Verizon or Apple will be foolish enough t...

I do believe that Verizon will steal a few of AT&Ts customers early, but not a lot. I don't think Verizon's network is gonna take a big hit like AT&Ts did. Verizon will slowly gain iPhone users and allow them to adjust as they go. AT&T didn't know what they were in for and took most of it all at the same time. Not a lot of people are gonna pay that ETF to leave AT&T, not alot of people are gonna buuy the iPhone outright. Verizon customers will wait for upgrades, and AT&T customers will wait until contract end. and this will keep the process gradual, imo.

I am good. I was just checking on you. I notice you have been short on some of the forums lately. You have the "suffer no fools" demeanor going on.

Yeah it just comes out more often some days than others. I guess I am having flashbacks to July 2007 when I owned agent stores for AT&T and every other question was "do you have the iphone". Like some bad acid trip.

That or my inner bad ass is coming out more that I have the decision to prestige or not on Black Ops.

Agreed. While I'm suspect of it's firmware based on the AT&T history, it's still unproven.

Having said that, the new Iphones are commonly released beginning of summer and for $200 it may be wiser to wait a few months and get the updated model. Plus, the summer edition will likely have addressed any issues that arise with the first edition. You should never buy a first edition car, why would it be different with a phone? Tough choices.
