Why is that? I know a lot of people who use about 3 GB/month on their Blackberry? 29.99 is a great price for that!

You know A LOT of people that use about 3GB a month on a BLACKBERY? 🙄 I find that hard to believe.

I used over a gig on my blackberry without trying to.

Streamed Pandora A LOT, did moderate web browsing (was painful), and watched youtube vids from time to time.

3gigs would be pushing it for me, but i know some people who did it.

I know VERY few who use less than 200mb.

Not that hard to use data when Tethering is thrown in.

unofficially supported tethering, obviously.

It IS unrelated. The other thread is discussing the possibility of Verizon making the same change. Your thread has nothing to do with Verizon specifically. Moving your service to AT&T is a topic for the AT&T forum, not the Verizon forum.

I jumped ship and went to AT&T about 3 years ago because their prices were a little lower and I liked their selection of phones better at that time. It was a big mistake. The coolest phone on a cheap plan isn't worth it if you can't make a freaking call! There were TONS of places that I had either no signal at all or it was so patchy that I would drop the call. And it wasn't just around where I live. I experienced those problems when I traveled too. There were also multiple "service outages" in my area. As soon as my contract was up I ran screaming back to Verizon and haven't looked back. Now I can make calls from everywhere. I like that.

I'm in south-central PA very close to the MD state line. AT&T has multiple dead spots around here where I can use my Verizon phone with no problems. I had the same experiences different places in Florida, Montana, and Virginia. I simply get better, more consistent coverage with Verizon.

LOL...you're funny. Look, I'm not some kid who's going to blindly sing the praises of "my" carrier. I'm a real-life grownup who's been there. I had AT&T. I know the problems I had. I also know that I don't have those problems with Verizon. Seems to me like you're the one with your head in the sand if you can't see that people have had real issues with AT&T. You can write it off to "fanboism" all you like if that makes you feel better about your choice.

Sorry Matt you being a grown up adult and all should know better. You made the post with a subject title " You'll regret it" based on your experience with ATT, that simply doesn't apply to everyone. ATT has very good churn rate and a very good network. How about we just let others decide for themselves what they might or might NOT regret. Thanks.

I read forums for information. I assume most other people do as well. If I have a bad experience with a product or service I tell people so others can make informed decisions. Maybe I should have entitled my post "You'll probably regret it" but now we're splitting hairs. Bottom line: My experience with AT&T left a lot to be desired. I've rea...

Didn't you get the memo? You're supposed to end each sentence with "in my opinion" and include a legal disclaimer at the end of the post stating that "the opinions expressed in this post do not necessarily reflect the opinions of PhoneScoop, the original poster, previous or future posters, readers, the advertisers, those not even reading this forum, or those who are not aware of it's existence."

In my opinion.

I get it- you're a crusader! That's what it sounds like. For every post that states ATT blows there is another saying the same thing about Verizon.
The 30 day trial period provider by the carriers is all that really matters. You are right about one thing forums are for sharing, just don't expect that someone doesn't call you out on your dribble.

Forums are for sharing information and discussion about the overall topic of that forum. If you want to share why you enjoy being a customer of Verizon in the Verizon forum, so be it. If you dispute that opinion, so be it. But if you expect a discussion about how wonderful AT&T is within the Verizon forum, you're going to be sorely disappointed.

i agree.. but the same goes for all other carrier forums... i see it on all sides. the att forum is the worst. it's littered with bickering and hate now. i used to float around these forums for some helpful info. now all i see is fights about who is better. 🤣 , "my dad is bigger than your dad". "oh yeah, well my dad can beat up your dad".. 🙄 i think it's ok to post your experiences here, and let others make their decisions from that info. is that not how things work, you know word of mouth. i presently have att, i personally had better service w/verizon. i jumped ship because i am an employee for att. but may be coming back to verizon for the incredible. att's android choices right now are not worth looking at to me. we'll see...

You go right ahead. I've studied just about every carrier and not because I am bias but Verizon honestly was the best pick for me. I'm not worried about how cheap a plan is, my concern is in "The quality of service I will get", "reliability" and "professionalism" among other things.

Sprint was the worst in my experience, I had to take them to court to prove that made a $1400 error on my bill, which is when I made the switch to Verizon a couple years ago.

I had AT&T and could never ever get signal and anytime I called into customer service it was somone is Asia or the Philippines that spoke horrible English and couldn't help me cause they couldn't understand me.

So I'd gladly pay more with VZW than to pay less and get crappy servi...

How did ATT get it right? They took away your all you can eat option? Now you have to be worried about overages. How many people are ripping VZW for hinting that they will go to tiered data plans on LTE, and now people are gonna rip them for not going to tiered pricing on 3G? Come on you cant have it both ways.

With 3 texts/emails (65%/90%/100%)...

they are going to receive your call...

and laugh all the way to the bank.

The crux of the situation... is some people don't need that much data. Some people need more.

Increasingly, "cool" stuff is going to use a lot of data.

Netflix.
Video Conference.
Online Games.

This right here... removes a lot of "cool" stuff from being possible for most people.

That is where my problem is... not because people are paying metered prices. But because this is going to stiffle/kill innovation.

innovation does require capital ($$$) to get off the ground.

The glass does not have to be half full or half empty just half filled 😁
