Need a phone with good reception
I need a new phone. I need good reception. Verizon will tell you that all the phones are the same... bull. We have 5 phones is this house and they all get different coverage. The blackberry curve gets the best, but I'm not interested in that one.
Any suggestions??
Thanks
Plus if you have high speed up there in them mountains VZW has an extender to help with signal.

Also, despite dozens of other reasons not to buy from Motorola, they do tend to put a bit more work into the antennae then other makers do. Blackberry and LG are right behind Motorola as far as reception quality goes.
DO NOT buy a flip-phone!
Is the HTC Incredible a well-built phone? I find the earpiece sound quality very muffled, whereas the Moto Droid is very clear sounding.
Thanks.

A) I've never used one.
B) I don't trust ANYTHING that's been on the market less then 4 months. I'll let all the other antsy phone-freaks do my beta testing, thank you.
That said, I can not yet render any form of opinion on the sound quality on the device, other then to say HTC does not make my list of top performers, though I am fond of the Sense UI. They've got some good things going there.
The headset sounds just as good on my Incredible as it does on my Droid. Having both, I can easily test it. However, I can tell you that a really cheap stereo/phone headset I have does sound better on the Droid for whatever reason. My main headset is a Blackberry-branded set (not the cheap one that comes in the box).
Also.. I think that may have more to do with content then network. PS has some flash adds that tend to load towards the end of the script that would seem to 'slow down' your data connection. Just an idea..
Barring that, the Blackberry's are amazing, and if you don't want a smart phone, either a higher end LG or Motorola should be an ok choice.
Have you had any issues with the microphone clarity on the Droid? I have friends with this phone who say when they call someone, the other person cannot understand what they are saying.
Thanks.
Tell your friends to do this:
-From the phone app, dial ##Program and hit send
-Enter Password of 000000
-Go down to VOCODE and select EVRC-B (or whatever -B) Save the changes
-Allow the phone to power cycle
This is an advanced Codec that makes voice clarity a lot higher. DO NOT mess with the other options there. That is a base level menu of your device, so don't make changes unless you know what they mean.
The mic is located in the center of the "lip" on the device, right below the screen. It's best to hold the device without any part of your hand touching the...

It's funny that the only time I've had any trouble with Motos is the one everyone raves about reception wise is the 815 (& that wasn't just my phone I knew of two others that had the same troubles in my area.)
