If they are doing a BOGO on the Droid and Eris...I wonder what is about to drop in forty-five days or so? Dragon? Vphone V1? I think they are only willing to dump the Droid on users because whatever is about to drop is going to be way better. Either that or they are just making a Christmas push. Of course, I prefer to believe the former.

First off, this is still rumor. Seeing a rumor on BGR doesn't make it a sure thing, though it certainly wouldn't surprise me if it's true.

Back in late October I had spoken to someone in marketing that told me we were going to throw out a big deal in December, but he couldn't tell me what it was. At the time, I was sure they just hadn't finalized on exactly what they'd be doing. They probably had a few ideas kicking around.

If this is true, I hope to see some results from it. BOGO isn't always a deal-maker in our area.

This is true, and I trust BGR. He obviously has some pretty official verizon sources.

Its a Buy one droid or eris get one free after rebate. The blackberry was a straight BOGO without the mail in rebate. Runs December 4th-7th.

The offer in our market (Texas) is buy one Eris (or Droid) and get an Eris free. No free Moto Droid offers. I also just saw the ad run and it shows BOGO Eris only, no mention of the Motorola Droid.

This confirms the proprietary pre-release information I received. there are some other specials as well but until they are advertised they won't be revealed by me. I personally don't believe in violating Proprietary information. This idiot who does this simply warns AT&T and others of a pending sale and allows them to pre-emptively create an offer rather than being shocked and unable to respond.

Yes, like when Verizon began offering the $99.99 Unlimited Plan and AT&T and T-Mobile matched it (or beat it) the same day. VZW thought they had a game changer and thanks to people like this guy leaking info, the other carriers merely yawned and kept on moving.

they will be pulling these deals for a long time to come... it was the whole reason behind the ETF increase to $375... Verizon's goal for 2010 is data data data data....... on into LTE.
