Tour, not a Thriller!

My Verizon contract expired 4 days ago. So I went to my Verizon store to check the Tour, and most if not all the Black B's.

I was not impressed with the Tour at all. All the hype on here, was just that, hype.

I still have my Dare phone, the phone for now is okay, but texting is a nightmare. Though I have been a customer with Verizon for 7 years, there phones are not worth it.

Why is it that everyone on here is always putting down the other carriers? If the other carriers were so bad, there would a higher percentage of people migrating to Verizon. But the way ALL the carriers work fine here. So coverage is not an issue.

Many people have the new Iphone and they love it and they do not have issues with their network....

So if Verizon does not have what you want, then spend your money elsewhere. I guess Verizon was good enough for you for 7 years, but now it is not. So you want to leave due to not having cool phones? It is entirely your option, no one is making you stay with Verizon, just like you started this tread.....just my thought, no carrier is "perfact."

Switch.

Once you travel, and you go "I always had service here with Verizon". You will see how unreliable AT&T is and you will wish you NEVER switched.

Were getting Android very soon and iPhone in early 2010. We will have the first LTE network in the US. We are ranked in the top 10 largest wireless networks in the world.

Verizon is getting the Iphone in "early 2010" ? So you are telling me that Verizon is getting the Iphone that has been out almost 4 years?

I played with the Tour, the Pre and the Iphone . An by far, the Iphone was the easiest to use.

As I said before my friends also use the other 4 carriers, and yes they do travel. And they have no complaints with coverage.

Yes coverage is great on Verizon, but if you travel mostly to cities that have people and not cornfields in the middle of nowhere then AT&T and or T-mobile will work just fine..You have to test out the networks where you live and play mostly to see which ones work better... There are places that AT&T work better and there ...

They are basing that off when the current exclusivity agreement with ATT is set to expire.

And when you are talking the Iphone or Android, you are talking 3g coverage. Which is a lot smaller than voice coverage for most customers.

Iphone came out 2 years ago. The reason Verizon, Sprint, etc haven't gotten it since launch is Apple and ATT made the phone exclusive.

"Playing" with a phone does not qualify you to say the tour sucks(or any other devices for that matter). When you have spent more than a week with each device then you can give an EDUCATED opinion on the matter.

The iphone is prolly the easiest to use, but thats what makes it frustrating at times. Its lack of high end smart phone features are what keep many power users away (like me).

All of these devices have their pros and cons, I would choose the Tour personally, but I like Blackberries. The important thing is choice.

Personally? I go with service and customer care first...then go with that carrier and select one of their phones. With verizon and ATT you know you will get solid devices.

Right now the only thing ATT has ...

Yes, it will be the first 4G iPhone. And AT&T can't do another exclusive year with the iPhone because:
1) FCC is about to do the new exclusive rights thing for cell networks.
2) Apple is sick of AT&Ts crap from not keeping up with there end of the contract.

If you think AT&T is better, then you have done 0 research. AT&T is ALWAYS having problems.

Why not look at the Omina 2, Omina pro (new version of the glyde), Touch Pro 2, the new Android phone, Storm 2, Palm Pro, HTC Ozone.

I don't see anything the matter with our phones. You can't download stuff like Google Maps because Google maps runs off Java and not BREW (which Verizon is going to switch to Java soon in December/Jan).

You can be on Verizon's VIP for being with us for 7...

The Tour is definitely not a thriller, its just another deliverance of the same old OS in a slightly different hardware package..Its definitely nothing mind blowing or innovative in comparison to any other blackberry...Almost every blackberry I have been reading about that are coming look almost exactly the same with pretty much the same old OS..After a while this gets boring, I mean RIM is great for now but iPhone, webOS and Android are right on their heels with much more innovative phones and OS's..Definitely nothing to get worked up about with the Tour, great device just nothing new....

the iphone has done next to nothing to their basic OS either since it launched. In fact, even some of the most glowing reviews for the phone mentioned how the new 3gs is hardly as revolutionary as people are making it out to be. WebOS is only the real "new" OS out there (and Android, but that's a new platform, so I would hope it would be new)

I do agree that the BB OS is getting a bit old, but that doesn't make this a bad phone.

You don't want to start a fight, and yet you keep creating thread that say the SAME EXACT THING.

You don't like Verizon phones, we get it.

We're also not claiming Verizon is perfect either. But the last time, you went on and on about the iphone, a phone that is also far from perfect.\

Seriously, nothing that comes out is going to catch your eye it seems. Go to your local ATT store, pick up an iphone and be done with it. Or go pick up a pre. If the phone are really what you want, we'll have web OS by next year, who knows about the iphone, but I imagine it is coming here too.

I for one really like the tour, and so do most of the people who've seen the phone in the store. No, it's not some super flashy phone, but I dont want so...

Here is how I see it...I had a Pearl, got the Tour...love it!

1st - Coverage can vary, but no matter where I am, Verizon seems to have the best. Last year I had to travel to Montana for a wedding. We were up in the mountains in Big Sky. People who had Verizon were using their phones like they always do. AT&T phones had no signal at all.

2nd - Blackberry OS is a platform that works for 55% of smartphone users. For people whose email and messaging is important, they are using a Blackberry. As long as they continue to tweak the OS and improve it with time, I dont think you will see mass changes.

No one had service with AT&T in Montana because AT&T doesn't have any service there. Its all Roaming. 🤣

I don't think Verizon is perfect - but having sold phones for all the major wireless carries, I can say unequivocally that they are the best.

BB is still the defacto standard when it comes to enterprise deployment. That's where the money is as far as RIM & any of the carriers are concerned. I mean come on, the BES costs $30k plus an un-Godly amount more for individual licenses. RIM is treading very lightly in order to NOT lose that. If that means the BB's OS or HW still look the same versus Pre & iPhone, so be it... THAT money is more important than some individual who needs a new toy. Jeez, where I work we have over three hundred BBs...
