Fun Story

So Thursday night my wife and some of her friends go out for dinner and drinks down on the main line, outside of Philly. The whole MJ and Farrah dying thing came to light about the same time. So my wife and 2 of her friends decide to look up some details on CNN.com. My wife has a Curve with VZW and 2 of her friends have 3g iPhones. For the entire 3 hours that they were at the restaurant neither of the iPhone user were able to connect to the internet, her curve of course has no problem.

Yet another story of how BB trumps iPhone.

Should of been "Yet another story of how VZW trumps ATT."

I wonder what will you guys have to talk about once AT&T adds the much needed capacity and shuts everyone up!

While AT&T is busy adding capacity so it can catch up to Verizon's network performance do you honestly think VZ is going to sit around and not expand its own network? I have a work issued BB on AT&T and a personal BB with VZ. Most of the time I have to use my personal phone because the AT&T Berry won't complete a call. When it does work I'm usually treated to the wonderful sound of my caller's digitally compressed voice - until the call mercifully drops. The other 360 plus people in my office have the same problem. I guess that's the reason the city agency I work for dumped AT&T and is giving us VZ Berrys in July.

lies! at&t doesn't have any problems completing calls. The only hiccups are while using data... yeah, your company has so much money to issue, not only an AT&T BB, but a Vz one too! Who do you work for, Google? 🤣

Before you respond to a post it's wise to make sure you understand it. I said I have a work issued AT&T BB and a personal BB from VZW. Due to all of the problems we've had with AT&T we are switching to VZ. I didn't say I have two work issued phones. Also, voice problems - poor quality and dropped calls, etc - are legendary with AT&T. I hope this clears up things for you.

I think we do VZW no favors by constantly talking about the iPhone and comparing its very few shortcomings to anything we have. What we should focus on is how much more extensive our 3G network is and how much higher overall customer satisfaction/churn rates are compared to AT&T.

Aesthetic-wise, sheer flexibility as far as number of apps, and coolness-wise the iPhone beats anything we have handsdown. The Blackberry in general has become the proverbial 'your father's phone' while the iPhone has been the device of choice for the 20-30 high value younger demographic. I hear constantly the refrain "if Verizon just had the iPhone I'd come to or go back to Verizon." Unfortunately the boneheads and bean-counters at corporate were either too ...

so the iphone is better simply because it is "cooler?" A phone is only as good as your ability to use it. If someone can't use data where they need it (or in this case in the restaurant) and can't make calls, they should just get an Ipod Touch if they want something cool.

It has:
-Network connectivity issues (compared to other phones on the same network)
-JUST getting the ability to MMS now
-no user swappable battery
-While it does receive generally favorable reviews, even the positive ones this time mention that they are disappointed in Apple for doing so little to change their device. It was revolutionary when it first came out, not so much any more.
-You can't insure it. Quite possibly the dumbest idea ever for a high tech d...
