Are US Virgin Islands part of the US of A or not? Why does VZW charge $1.99/min for "CDMA roaming" inside a US territory?

AT&T and even T-mobile consider USVI to be a part of their regular service territory.

AT&T and T-Mobile charge roaming for Guam which is also a US Territory. It's determined by the carrier in the US Virgin Islands that serves GSM and the carrier that serves CDMA

Kwitcherbeliakin and call Verizon Customer Service and ask. If it isn't, ask why. It is what it is. Those are the folks that need to hear from their customers on issues like this.

I will.

The reason I'm so surprised is that "CDMA roaming" in USVI is not on some obscure local provider - it's good old Sprint for chrissakes!
