Absolute garbage......Big Red is not getting as PTT Blackberry anytime soon. Their PTT is more like push to wait. 85% of all customers who ported out of Nextel to switch to the new Verizon PTT have already ported back to Nextel. Nice try Verizon......... 😲 🤣 😎

Not to mention, the 8350i is an IDEN product. Not CDMA.

1st. The ones who came to Verizon have stayed, you can tell because Sprint/Nextel is going down in customers, not up.

2nd, your really dumb for saying Push to Wait. And yes they are comming out with a PTT BB dumb @$$.

I am currently using the Motorola Adventures with the ptt function for work and they function exceptional. I'm not sure how Nextel works but there is less than 1 sec lag time in the messages with the Verizon service.
I know that Verizon is in the testing mode now for the Blackberry, I just can't get an answer as to when to expect the phone coming out. 🤣

They may be testing, but unfortunately they won't be releasing one this year.

How many PTT customers does Verizon's Push to wait network have? How many phones do they offer? And what Blackberry do you propose they are releasing? I went to a Blackberry conference two months ago and saw their entire product roadmap.....and guess what? No Verizon PTT Blackberry. Do you know why? Because you have a few hundred thousand PTT subscribers, while Nextel has over 13,000,000. Does the US government use Verizon's push to wait? NO. Do fire fighters, EMS, police use your push to wait. NO. Do you offer a technology that works when the public switch is down to give emergency crews communication during a natural disaster like an earthquake or hurricane? NO. ERT kits for those crews to communicate with? NO. Yeah, I guess that makes me ...

Do you have any friends? NO. Do you have the slightlest chance of ever getting a gf living in your mother's basement? NO. Do you need to get a life? YES

Push to Wait? I suppose that you're unaware of Verizon Wireless' upgraded Push to Talk service that's not plagued with the "wait" that you're referring to.

Really, it's disgusting that there are actually phone company fanboys. Grow up.

Funny thing about that is that we've sold tons of PTT around here and everyone loves it. The connection is as fast, if not faster than Nextel if you are in EVDO (which most verizon coverage is)

It can't be faster then iDEN PTT, and that's a tech statement, not my personal opinion.

so it's not faster, but it is just as fast.

It's not faster. No doubt about that. It's not even as fast...but it is pretty close to it. I doubt Verizon will be crowing about its PTT speed anytime soon. They will stick with "The Network" Once they get Alltel integrated and Rev A throughout that may actually mean something.

Yea, its not Faster.

But comes really really close.

So close it wouldn't matter.

Theres like a 1 sec lag, and thats it.

What i like about it is there is no need for another number like Nextel's iDEN network, and you can use Verizon PTT is more places the Nextel.

Also, the phones look better with Faster data.

It amazes me that people are actually arguing over push to talk technology.

The PTT Blackberry is on Verizon's product roadmap, but probably a year out from my understanding. Other Blackberry launches are getting much higher priority at this point.

Now you know how it feels to have some one troll in your home forum. I would resent this guy, but as I have read many of your posts in other carrier forums it smacks of a certain poetic justice. Personally, I wish everyone would chill out with the 'we' ish. It's about as bad as people who are fans of a sports team talking smack to one another.

Azeron......thank you and very well put. I don't post often, but am a long time veteran of the wireless industry. Nothing bothers me more than when a young know it all kid trolls forums and drops bull$hit. I know I stooped personally to a level I am not comfortable with. My apologies to anyone in the Verizon forum that i offended, but I stand firmly by my posts. Anyone who is truly involved in the wireless industry knows that high performance PTT is the way of the future, and Verizon has done a good job of bringing competitive leverage to the playing field with their offering. But as it stands, there is no HPPTT Blackberry in the near future. There are too many current products to be realeased on the CDMA platform that are on the GSM only (B...
