Invisible SHIELD by Zagg...or other protection?

Is anyone here using a Zagg Invisible Shield on your phone? Maybe a different brand? I'm seriously considering an LG Dare but I would want to protect it. Do these shields work? Are they worth the money? One thing I was wondering is if it changes the responsiveness of the touch screen. Does it increase friction on the screen so that your finger doesn't slide as easy as it should? Any experience or input is greatly appreciated!

I use an Invisible Shield by Zagg. Yes, they are expensive but I find that they work better than anything else out there. You just need to make sure you take some time out and to apply it very carefully. If it ever gets scratched or anything it will be replaced- lifetime guarantee.

I don't have a touch screen phone, I have a bbery. Anything on the surface will create additional friction. However, I don't think that it will create much* friction, if any. I know a bunch of people with iPhone/iTouch that use the Zagg and they love it. None of them have mentioned anything about the Zagg taking away from the touchscreen experience.

If you browse this site enough, you will find very good discount codes. I found a 50% off and that ma...

Yeah, I don't think those clear film "shields" will do much to protect it from impact or crush damage. I can see where that could be an issue with a big flat screen. All I really expect the film to do is protect against scratches. I just want to make sure I get a good one and that it doesn't hamper the phone's touch response.

I also use the Invisible Shield by Zagg on my Storm. It works very well. I can barely notice it is on there. They have a kiosk in a few malls by me so I went there and had them install it. I have used them for several of my touch screen phones & have never had a problem with the sensitivity of the touch. Give them a try I think you will be pleased.

That's good to know...thanks. Now I just have to decide if I want to buy the kit that covers the entire phone or if I only want the screen protector. I really don't want the added bulk of a snap-on case or silicone cover. I know they will protect the phone from accidental drops better than the Zagg, but it will make it somewhat bulkier. I also don't want something that makes it too grippy. That might make it harder to get out of a pocket easily. I have to decide.

I use the Invisible Shield on my Dare. The texture is a little different, but so is getting used to a touch screen phone. It took me a day or two to get used to the IV being on.

Went to the mall, they had a kiosk, and got the full thing done by someone that does it daily for around $20.

4 months later, all is fine. I've dropped my phone a handful of times. I know, it wont protect from smashing on the ground. But the phone held up fine... while there is not one mark on my phone still. No scratch, nothing.

I'd really recommend it for anyone, but especially touch screen phone users. I did have one issue with the protection on the front of the touch screen. Some specks of dust got caught in it when they applied it but we didn't notice...

I just ordered the full body kit from Zagg. I have about 10 days before I can port over to VZW and get my Dare so I figured that will give the Zagg time to arrive. I guess I should use the phone (carefully) for a few days to make sure its ok and that I'm keeping it before I install a $25 potective film on it. I just hope I don't scratch it in the mean time. 😕

Good job! I got a POS screen saver thing at VZW while deciding on the Zagg product. There are lots of videos on YouTube about them. So if you're bored, you got 10 days or so to watch them.

The Dare is cool. Major learning curve for me, coming from the Env2. But give it atleast a week to see what you think.

And the Invisible Shield.. no complaints with mine. Granted, they put it on for me. Ha ha. They used a hair dryer on mine for the corners and such. And I saw they warn about using the handset after applying.. ah.. I was on mine texting away as I walked away from the kiosk. No issues at all.

LOL...that's funny about not waiting for it to dry. I was thinking the same thing. They say to wait 12 to 24 hours to let the Zagg "cure" before using the phone. Personally, I think it's to let the liquid application spray dry that might have seeped into the phone. I'm going to be all excited to play with my new toy. I can't imagine leaving it turned off and not messing with it for that long. Maybe I can resist for 8 hours or so if I install the shield right before I go to sleep for the night. 🙂

I'm glad to hear you like the Dare. I'm looking forward to getting it. I've read the reviews, watched the youtube videos, and played with one at the store. I think I'm going to like it. My wife has an enV2 and it's a great phone...

Another vote for the Zagg products. I have one on my iPod, it STAYS but is also removable to get rid of dust that got under during application, or if you need warranty service on the device. I've also dropped my iPod, no damage to the device itself, though it looks like a corner of the shield got a little mangled.

The hardest part of the installation is getting the corners right, mine is OK, but because of the way it's curved it was tough to get right. It helped a lot with fingerprints, it doesn't "collect" them as much as the iPod surface would but it's not THAT different of a texture. On the face of the iPod it's really "invisible", the back is visible only because of the cuts to make the corners. I didn't install the part that goe...

Cool. Glad to hear you like the Zagg. Mine should be arriving any day now and I get the Dare in a week! 🙂
