Canada has it going on.

but ya, the storm needs wifi. period.
1. Verizon wanted to lock down Bluetooth in 2004 so they could collect 25 cents per picture on VZWPIX. $$
2. Verizon locks down WiFi and requires mandatory data plans on PDAs so that users can't just pay for voice and enjoy data on home or public connections. $$
3. Verizon locks down GPS so it can collect money for VZ Navigator instead. $$
You haven't mentioned not being able to get Windows Live Search Mobile on your BB Storm yet...

Not putting wifi on the storm has nothing to do with trying to generate more revenue.
Didn't they ship a few hundred thousand of them already at $249.95 on a 3-year service agreement with minimum $45 voice and data plan?
Say the data portion is $30 x 500,000 units x 36 months = $540,000,000.00
You realize the WiFi chip only adds about $4 to the cost of each unit, right? 😲
where do u get ur facts?

actually its a 2 yr agreement, many got the phones less then 250 (ne2 credits n such), and only a 30$ min data plan.

Sorry, 3 yrs was for Canada Bell and Telus. Still, paying $30 /month x 24 months is much different than just paying $4 for the WiFi function on the mobile unit.
My reply was in response to someone who said that revenue was not a factor when the decision was made to not have WiFi.
THe CDMA versions of the bold (currently codenamed Niagara), curve 2 (curently codenamed jupiter), and pearl flip (currently codenamed apex) should all be released before the end of 2009.
So to answer your obnoxious question, yes, verizon will see a version of the curve 2
And no, I dont work for verizon

I don't post garbage information on this website or any other that I post on. I have multiple sources in the cell industry, including several at verizon. Rumors always contain an element of guessing, thats why people come to these types of websites...they want to know something.
If you don't like rumors, why even read blogs or post on a site like this? All I have to say is that my info is pretty legit, and I will even post a few sources from crackberry where I got this info. (BGR is the one who originally reported it I believe)

A Blackberry Storm with Wi-Fi? Wouldn't that be nice. Talk about overcoming objections...

Can't users just buy one in Canada then activate it with *228 Option 3 with the "Any Device" Policy now?
