Is the Krave a dud??
I've had the Krave at my store for a week or two now and nobody has shown much interest in it. I think it's mostly due to the price.

texting is a major pain in the azz, so that would be a turnoff if you text alot. but as calling goes its awesome. i get excellent call quality on it. far better then my bb curve that is my work phone.
Yeah, I keep hearing about how great the call quality is. That's very important to me. Exactly how bad is texting on the Krave? I don't text much now, but that might change with the new VZW plan. When I played around with a store phone I was able to type accurately with one finger (my right index). When I tried using my thumbs I hit the wrong keys a lot.
If you like media in a handset, it is hard to beat, with the TV, Visual Voicemail, 8GB MMC card, and awesome Openwave 7 HTML browser.
You will hate this phone if you just expect to pick it up and dial though. The scroll lists can seem to glide or 'run away', until you understand that it is also controlled by left-right positions as well as up-down. The documentation is very poor, so you will be discovering things like how to mark calls for deletion, do speed dialing, etc.
I took about two weeks to learn all it...

The Krave is a great phone if you have the patience to "Learn" the touch handset. It also needs a firmware update badly. I have the v23 firmware which improves it alot from the v19 which is still shipping with the phone.

Presently holding the #1 button is the only conventional Speed Dial and connects to voice mail, *86. There is a firmware update in the works.
The phone has 3 ICE contacts, and "Favorites", so you can get to your 1 touch contacts with 2 taps.

OK...Bare with me a second. Let's say I want the fastest possible way to call my wife's cell. I would put her number in one of the "Favorites" spots. Now, I want to call her. I open the phone and hit what?

you can either hit "food" "beer" or "booty-call"

LOL...probably not the exact oder I would put them in. 😉

Phone then dials her default number and shows her caller ID pic at full screen resolution. If you don't want her default number, you touch her name instead of the icon and get a list of choices, home, mobile, work, etc.

So it's two presses? One to bring up Contacts and one for the icon by her name...right? Heck, that's not bad at all. I have to do 2 key presses on my current phone for speed dials. I wonder why so many people complain about "the lack of speed dial" on the Krave. Sounds to me like it has it (at least for a few numbers). I only have 4 set on my current phone anyway.
Sending your whole contact list by Bluetooth to Outlook is another undocumented feature.
