Billing question

I just received a bill for over calls dating back a month and a half. VZW rep said that happens when the towers don't send the information right away. Could this be possible, or am I just being screwed.

You are not getting screwed. It happens quite a bit.

FCC grants up to 90 days for calls to appear. This is listed in your terms and conditions.

I am not asking if they can legally bill me, I am asking does this happen that I can be billed from the same location, on the same day, only a month and a half later.
Thanks again for all replies.

Yes, it does happen from time to time. Its called delayed billing, so what you were told is true. It doesnt happen that often but if unfortunitly it does happen.
Now remember this, your calls already are a month behind. So lets say your bill goes to print on the 01/21, the calls on that bill will normally be from 12/22 to 01/21. Hope that helps a little more.

Yes, it does happen, and it can certainly be frusturating.

When off the primary network, you can be roaming onto a carrier's network, that is slow on validating/reporting your calls.

Legally, a carrier has 60 days to report a call to be billed, and I've seen one or two scenarios where an individual has made calls only to have ten minutes of calls validated one month and ten in the exact same spot the next month.

Most major carriers don't have a problem reporting these calls quickly, it's usually a matter of being in an area where cell service is provided by a localized carrier (Bob's Corndogs and Cellular Service 🙂 hehehe)

It's not VZW controlled.. as soon as the calls are validated and reported, they'll be on your next bill, b...

The only problem I had was that I had no idea of the minuets used since it was not recorded on the network, so at the end of the month I had over calls. I explained this to CSR and they were very helpful. Thanks for the reply.

Very important... Dial *228 send and then wait till the machine tells you to press number 2 to update the software. Sometimes this helps with many of the software issues! Do this once a month.

While *228 is effective at updating your roaming capabilities and software, it is *not* going to prevent you from getting delayed airtime in the eventuality that you roam onto another carrier's network that is slow in reporting it.

Sometimes when your bill cycle ends, not all call data can be gathered before the bill is posted so it will roll onto your next invoice. This is more common that you think. It's safe to say that pretty much all wireless carriers with roaming agreements will have this type of issue. I know it can be confusing, but it can and will happen.
