Agent: Hello, I'm a Sprint products and services online specialist. May I help you select a phone that suits your needs?
You: Who has the fastest data network in Orange County, CA? VZW or Sprint?I am currently on VZW for my data card (month-to-month) and cell phone. Cell phone is great, but the data card speed is low (it's an old EVDO card...and it is dying).I want to get a USB data card, and I am trying to decide whether to stay with VZW for data or switch to Sprint. Go to or call a local store if you want honest answers.
I first posted HERE looking for "honest" answers, as I would not expect to get too much honesty out of someone (in a chat or a store) who gets paid to sell service.
I was HOPING to get more of an intelligent answer out of the chat person, i.e., WHY was Sprint's Rev A service as slow as VZW's non-Rev A EVDO service six months ago.

Sprint's network on the East Coast does really well with data but I haven't heard much about their West Coast data.
There could be a number of things going on. If the signal is less than perfect, you won't get the theoretical speeds. Also, Sprint needs to provide enough bandwidth on the back end. They're usually good about that but it could be different in the OC.
If you're not already on a VZW Rev. A card, you should give it a shot!
Also, were you using the Sprint internet from your wife's phone? Those phones are most likely not Rev. A capable.
