I have had a lot of phones. And I have to admit, yesterday I bought an LG8300 outright. I still love this phone! I love that it's loud, I love that it is the phone I can text the fastest on, and I love the fact that I can do individual text ringtones. I go through phones like every other month, really, and I am just really in love with my 8300 again and thought I would share! 😁

I know what you mean... I had the lg 8100 and I made the mistake of getting the original chocolate when it came out. BIG MISTAKE!!! Of course I have had many phones since then, but I still miss the 8100 😢

Classics are hard to beat, but once you get a smart phone you could never go back to such a simplistic phone!

Oh I have a Pearl too. Can't live with just one phone anymore! 🤣 Having issues with the Pearl though. Darn memory leak... Don't know how someone could use it as their primary phone. Losing text messages and pix messages are one thing, but losing call history is another. I'll look down and it will say one missed call. But as soon as you click on it, there is no history. I wish they would come out with a fix for it, because I really do love the phone other than that!

I have had my original 8300 since summer '06. It is the best phone I've ever owned, and nothing VZW has come out with since, from any manufacturer, remotely competes with it. I was SO looking forward to the 8350, but it's a joke. It feels cheap, it's slower to text on, and of course it's missing the all-important individual text alerts. I did research on this and the 8300 is the last phone VZW released with individual text alerts. I have no clue why we stopped offering this. It seems like a no-brainer to me that it sells more ringtones. A few lines of code would fix it. But it seems we take every opportunity to crush customization on our phones. Sad.

I've been eligible to upgrade for a year now and nothing has tempted me away f...

I had my 8300 for a long time and never upgraded until it got water damage and I had to use my upgrade. I went with the 8350, and it is a huge let down compared to the 8300. I even asked both of the stores in my area if they had any refurbs in the back. No luck, i'm stuck with the 8350. Thankfully I signed a 1 year, so I can upgrade to something new in October.

I was comparing phones on this website and in person at verizon stores and it seems that no other lg phone comes close to all the features the 8300 has, whether it is the light feel, speaker placement, and less resolution of the 8350 or the flat keypad, send button location, and shorter battery life of the 8700, I guess you get used to a phone that you had for 2 years and look to replace it with one that exceeds your expectations. The lg vx8300 is definately a quality made phone. If anyone has any other suggestions of a similar quality lg phone to the 8300 please feel free to add...

I agree with the individual text ringtones. It may be just a "vanity" thing, ot whatever you want to call it. But people like it. And obviously the phones are capable of it. I have no idea why they took it away. My Pearl can do it, but it takes a lot more work to set it up.
