I'm a school administrator, my district gets a small discount. So, I was wondering which companies get the biggest/best discounts? Is it based on the size of the organization or the type of organization?

Is that off the plans only or the equipment as well?

That is off of the plans. We both get 25% off of equipment and accessories, but we never use it on phones because you lose your new every 2 discount if you use your business discount. But if you are buying a phone at full retail, it comes in handy there.

I have to go through my HR dept and get a FIN number. Is this the same process for all companies?

I honestly don't remember what the process was. We have been with Verizon for 4 years and signed up for the discount right after we ported our numbers over. I think we needed something from our respective companies, but I'm not sure.

I wonder if my district has negotiated for a better discount? More administrators have vzw now (Treo's). Thanks for the info!

I'm not going to say that a higher discount isn't available, but I have never seen one higher than what my wife and I get. Keep in mind that both CVS/Pharmacare and US Steel are Fortune 100 companies (maybe even Fortune 50). CVS/Pharmacare is the nation's largest mail order/retail pharmacy and US Steel is the nation's largest Steel company and second largest in the world.

Many state and federal government employees get a 25% discount. That is the highest I have seen personally on an account. A co-worker just mentioned seeing a 28% discount a while ago, I will see if I can find out which company.

You can usually go to the main Verizon website, click on corporate accounts, and enter your email, then they'll email you an access link.

send your corporate e-mail address to:

www.verizonwireless.com/getdiscounts

Your e-mail will get a link to register your line for the current discount. Caution thought, I have seen higher discounts dropped to lower discounts because of renegotiated agreements between the 2 companies. It may be higher as well.

The direct application site for employee discounts AFTER service is set up is http://www.verizonwireless.com/getdiscount

The highest discount I've ever seen (I work for Verizon Wireless) is 25%. I'd say the majority of large companies are anywhere from 15% to 20% on average.

I am a "state employee" and I get a 19% discount. All I had to do was take a copy of my pay stub to the Verizon Corporate store and they put your status into the computer and anytime you need to purchase something or when your bill comes it is already on there....no hassles and I have never had to do anything further again.

To answer your question, it is not necessarily the size of your organization or type it is the corporate discount that your point of contact has negotiated with corporate services.

Mostly, the discounts are going to be based on the number of lines that are subscribed corporately to VZW. The more lines on the corporate accounts, the higher the discount. So you could have a small business with a bigger discount than a large corporation.

I hope this helps.
