Dude, that's great and all, but why don't you share this with your AT&T friends?
...
Oh grow up Kid, I have verizon you jerk off- maybe some people on the verizon forum are considering the iphone did you ever consider that! THis is an amazing deal that everyone would probably like to know about.
...
It is a good deal, but on a 1400 minute plan you can get High Speed on Verizon for only $30. Or hell even vcast phone are going to run faster for $15 a month. I do like how they through in the 200 text though, but i didn't think that covers pix, and 200 is not very many
...
Yes, yeahright, thanks for pointing that out. It may be $20 per month, but it's EDGE only data.
By the way, Sprint has unlimited data for $15 on their EV-DO network. If were to switch from Verizon, it would be to Sprint.
...
Yeah you can add more texts of course for more money. What plan of verizons is 30 bucks?, I thought it was 44.99.
...
core choice plans, 1400 minutes plus unlimited date is 109.99
...
Okay that's is a huge difference then, ATT 100 bucks buys a family package with 1400 minutes plus unlimited data.
...
that is nice, so 1400 minutes adn 2 phones with data(or just one gets the data?) and do both phones get text? The Verizon plan is actually 1350..
Man I am switching
Just Kidden
...
Lets not forget that there is quite a large difference in the speed in the two data plans that are being compared.

As far as I understand there's no MMS in iPhone. And you cannot record the video. Even my Q can do more stuff FASTER then this overhyped piece of S. Asnwering your question, it's text only.piece
...
You can send pictures via email from the iphone. Every cell phone has an email address so you can send mms from cell to cell. Not being able to record videos, no voice dial, no 3G, non-removable battery are just a few of the negatives of the iphone. Yes it is an overhyped phone but please, please do not think your Moto Q is a better phone - you are just fooling yourself.
...
Maybe i'm wrong, but every phone has 2 email addresses: for text and for pix/vids/sounds etc. With Vz, it's #@vtext.com and #@vzwpix.com. You are partially correct. you can send the pic over the internet (or POP3), good luck doing it via EDGE. As for the Q, i love it, there isn't a thing i need (except maybe flash support, but i don't care about it much). i have tons of games, NES and Sega Genesis emulator, i can read my books, listen to music, go online FAST. So yeah, Q is a better phone.
...
At&t/Cingy users mms/email address for their phones is cell#@mms.mycingular.com. I send mms's from my email on my computer to my phone all the time. Therefore, you can send from you email address on your phone to a cell's mms/email address. I use to do this on my blackberry curve also. EDGE is not as slow as you might think. Yes, it is slower than EVDO but nothing to worry about. Also, you can use the wifi on the phone to send if you want.
I am not trying to defend the iphone, I do not like it myself. It is a joke when someone buys one they have to go online and activate it via an itunes account. This goes against why people have a sim card in the first place. There is way too much proprietary software on this phone. I think u...

MMS is not supported by iphone, that's what i read online on engadgetmobile.com. So I guess it's only gonna have a email address for text. Well that and POP3...
Also, we'll see how on-screen keyboard works...
all these messages were sent from my Q ;)
...
well of course, Would they really charge you that much for that slow ass internet you will be getting. Plus what is 200 text, that is nothing
...
Sure it's not EVDO speeds. I recently took a trip down to the ATT store and I tried out their edge speeds and it really wasn't that bad at all. It's definitely usable.
...
i agree with the rest...20 bucks isnt bad...but its edge..why would you switch from a T1 back to dial up...? somethings you just dont revisit....hell sprint could say...10 bucks for rtt..but who would want that...becides the price your paying for the iphone the plan should be cheap..you know it only costs aple 249.00 for complete production of the phone..their making a 50+ % in profits...this does make the iphone sound better...but..not enough it still has 2 many things it lacks...

Your response remids me of a cool articel Eric wrote.
The iPhone As A Mass Market Device, Despite The Cost
Thursday, June 21st in iPhone, Opinion, Apple by eric L | 1 comment
We have made every effort to keep a rational distance from the iPhone hype - the daily news bits, the predictions of its success or failure, and the complaints about lack of certain features or how the features it has work.
We’re not here to repeat any of that. You’ve read it enough times already. Instead, let’s talk about who we believe Apple is building the iPhone for, because it seems many analysts have not come to the same conclusion as we here at Phone Scoop.
Since its unveiling, the majority of analysts and pundits have compared the iPhone to smartp...

Hehe, I had Opera read me that entire article because I'm too lazy to actually read it. 🤣
Anyway, back to the article, that's what I've been saying for about a month. The iPhone is going to be like a Sidekick, and designed for people who would buy a Sidekick. Most of the things I do on my i730 are related to what the iPhone can do, but sometimes I need a little more kick, and that's what the iPhone lacks in. Plus, of course, a QWERTY keyboard. If I had an iPhone I would drive myself crazy trying to type on that.
That was a very insightful article, though. Where did you find it?

How does the thing stream Youtube on EDGE... I use VCast and that thing buffers constantly when I go on Youtube. I guess it will be worse then VCast even though the commercial looks like broadband
...
Yeah I think it will be a nightmare. Maybe the commerical was implying that it was using Wi-Fi.
...
i say thats false advertising...the commercial showed speeds even faster than wifi...it seemed like a liptop on a t1...i say lawsuit...
...
I say you have too much time on your hands.
Besides, every company does it. Verizon shows Vcast clips loading instantly. It would be stupid if they had the commerical showing "BUFFERING" for half of it.
...
Usually, screen images for just about anything are simulated, so I wouldn't think for a moment that they'd advertise Vcast or the iPhone any differently.
...
calm down its a joke..duh everything is simulated and made grand in commercials...i did get my bsba in marketing...im on that side.
...
They use glue instead of milk in cereal commercials.
...
There was an article reporting that ATT has worked very hard over the months to improve their edge speeds, so maybe it works pretty well.
...
I mean honestly I don't care. I use QNC on my i730 and get around 14.4 KBPS. Not counting the occasional timing out of certain pages, I don't notice a difference when I'm using Wi-Fi or when I'm using QNC.

Oh, bullcrap. Engadget is reporting that YouTube over EDGE works very badly. Even with ATT's improvements (called operation 'Fine Edge'), EDGE is still 'teh slow', and nowhere near EVDO or HSDPA. ☹️
Obviously the iPhone commercials are showing YouTube over Wifi, which the iPhone has. The end.
...
Of course it's slower noone was ever arguing that.
...
No, but you were trying to argue that YouTube might work good over EDGE. It won't, trust me.
...
I said maybe but whatever 😉
...
The iPhone's cool in a lot of ways, but it can't repeal the laws of physics or anything, knowhutImsayin'? 😎
Oh man. The hype for this thing is already out of control. Just hope people don't mug each other for one like they did the Playstation 3 at launch.
...
I'm glad I'm not selling it at my store, but I'm still counting on getting broken into even with the signs I've had up saying we don't carry it.

My condolences. You're prolly right.
Hope everything really valuable is moved or locked up in the safe. ☹️

It is, but I'll still have to replace whichever window they bust through. 😕

Well, to quote today's
New York Times' review of the iPhone:
The bigger problem is the AT&T network. In a Consumer Reports study, AT&T’s signal ranked either last or second to last in 19 out of 20 major cities. My tests in five states bear this out. If Verizon’s slogan is, “Can you hear me now?” AT&T’s should be, “I’m losing you.” http://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/27/technology/circuit ... »...
