Bloated Batteries
I had three straight Moto V325's today come in with bloated batteries and not holding a charge. Two said they would let the battery run dead and then recharge overnight. One said he would throw the phone on a charger every night. All batteries were 7 to 8 months old. Any reasons?
Thanks.
btw, someone who actually "knows" please respond. I have a feeling I will get 50 different responses with 50 different answers...

coincidence, but hey at least Paris Hilton is free! 🤣

I have seen several of these. Just like the bad run off 1000mah batteries that were in a ton of LG phones.
Interesting, though I have seen at least 20 of these in v325s, but none in any 325i or krazr....even though they take the same batt...
I have no explanation but I can second your findings.

I've been having this problem too... we go through more batteries for the V325 than anything else. I haven't figured out why they're so hard on them, but they eat batteries like candy. We've tried several different battery manufacturers, but none of them stood up in this phone.

Are those lithium ion or lithium ion polymer batteries? The description sounds like it's a poly.

The ones we're burning through now are Li-ion... I can't recall if we've tried polymers or not.

normally the polymers have a softer "shell" and are more apt to warp, but have more charges. The non polymer have a rigid casing and usually only do that when exposed to temperatures outside the operating range. If you get your battery in an environment above 77 degrees it starts to degrade the charge capacity.

I have seen the same things a lot also...The LG's are really bad about it...I know the 325's have been doing it a lot as well..But the only thing I can think of is overcharging and then boiling the acid inside..I work on cars and see the same thing a lot from batteries being overcharged...Not for sure but thats the only thing I can think of...
