Motorola T720........

I have been given and activated a Motorola T720. It is a VERY nice phone, not much bigger than the v60i I had.
I have heard people complain about this phone, can anyone advise me to the problems they have seen or the known problems?
Also, does anyone know the latest software version? I have 1.2.22.19C

Thanks.

phone locks up, screen will not light up, people can not here you talk, most of these problems can be solved by taking the battery off the phone and putting it back on, but it can get very annoying.

I use to have that phone and the problems I had with it were:

1. Locked up all the time.
2. When receiving a text message it would display it where the time and date were on the home screen as well as the outside screen.
3. Would turn off randomly.

Those were the problems I had but they were continuous... 😳

The thing is a heap of ****. Thank your 'friend' for giving you an albatross, then crack him or her over the head with it.

I would, but this was a phone that belonged to my friend and he has unfortunately passed away.

I am using this phone as it is something to really remember him by and he thought this phone was great.

I only asked for known problems, not for your unsympathetic banter.

Another question, do I have to take this phone into a store to have the firmware upgraded or is this the same as the software version? Please excuse my ignorance when it comes to these matters.

Thanks.

You should be able to just dial *228 in a Verizon Wireless area and it should update everything for you... 😳

That's not what he's asking about. Yes, go into a VZW Communications Store & have the technician upgrade the firmware. It will make the phone work a lot better, but it's still no great shakes. I had one for a long time & it was nothing but problems, even with the firmware update. Sorry about your friend.

i had it for two years and did not have one problem until about 2 weeks ago when it said "no service" for some reason and wouldn't come out of it. i took it to the verizon store and they gave me a T730 for free to replace it. basically the same, just looks a little different. i'm gonna hold onto this phone until the VX6100 comes out in my area and i use my new every two on it.

That version of software is the same as the T730 which was Moto's answer to the T720. Mechanicaly speaking, they're the same phone.
