Got a question for y'all... my Nokia 6256 has been a wonderful phone for me, but it seems to be lacking in the durability area. My friend's 6256 broke, and mine is developing a crack in the hinge. Tsk tsk, Nokia. ☚ī¸

So, I'm going to be upgrading in a couple of months, and want to know what the best phones are.

What I'm looking for:

1- Good durability/solid build quality
2- Very good speakerphone (clear, fairly loud)
3- Good battery life
4- Do NOT want a smartphone (too big/bulky)

If it also supported Bluetooth OBEX like my 6256 did, and had trimode, that'd be great, but isn't required.

Given the above, what's the best midrange, and the best high-end VZW phones?

Additionally, my girlfriend may be joining VZW soon, an...

That is going to be a tough one Shock, especially considering your bluetooth needs..I hear the LG env, LG 8600, and maxx have obex but I can't 100 percent confirm, I wouldn't waste my money on any of those phones, thats just me tho.

The env is fugly and basically for texters, the lg 8600 is a fingerprint magnet and has a weak speaker phone, and the maxx well is just a glorified razr which is junk IMO.

The LG 8300 I have owned and it has a great spearker phone, bluetooth (no obex) works great with BitPim so you can get all your goodies on it NP! and I would say it's fairly durable.

My fav ofcoure is the G'zOne it lacks bluetooth, but the Sound clarity is off the hook incredible...loud ringers, cradle charger, feels like real phone, M...

Thank you. The phones I seem to be most interested in so far:

- LG 8300
- Moto KRZR (how is this phone btw?)
- Moto Maxx
- LG 8700
- Samsung u340 (entry-level, for girlfriend)

Does anyone think I'm missing out on any outstanding phones by narrowing it down to these five?

I agree. I only got the EnV for the Camera. Other than that, I almost miss the Q; which, dispite the freezing and crappy battery life, was good for everything else.

Have you checked out the Samsung SCH-U540? It is a great value for the price, and seems to be a great phone. I would at least check it out, to see if it would meet your needs.

The same thing happened to my 6256... I'm lookin at either the RAZR MAXX or the LG8700. I like the look and the feel of both phones. The LG has a reliable name... LG. Hopefully Motorola got all the bugs out of the MAXX. Everybody that has old RAZR's hate them. Hopefully the MAXX is better. Let me know which one ya go with.
