😳 ISN'T IT TRUE THAT THE NATIONAL "IN" NETWORK IS NOT AS LARGELY SPREAD AS VERIZONS NATIONAL COVERAGE? AND THAT IT ONLY EXISTS IN THE HOTSPOTS MAP OF THE NATIONAL ENHANCED SERVICE RATE AND COVERAGEAREAS?? TAKE A LOOK SEE!!

I don't know about you, but I see a majority of red on that map which means that it is "IN"

Ummm... no. America's Choice IN-Network coverage is pretty much everything in pink or red on our map. The pink areas are for carriers that we have roaming agreements with, like ALLTEL. Coverage is transparent & at least in the case of ALLTEL, features carry over, like voicemail, text messaging, etc.

And lay off of the caps/lock key. It's annoying.

I thought it was the Brown areas on the National Enhanced Services Rate and Coverage Area. I'm not sure what date the brochure I'm looking at was printed, but I definitely see the little IN network symbol next to the brown on the legend. It may be on the pink map too, but that's definitely not on the legend. Brown areas = "TXT messaging, National IN-Network Calling Rate and Coverage area" White areas = "Enhanced Services and National IN-Network Calling not available". Has this been changed recently?

You do still have to be careful with the Local DigitalChoice plans, because the free roaming and IN Network areas could still be different. The reason for this is that the local plans give you free coverage in areas that would otherwise be roaming on the national plans. The Local DigitalChoice plans don't include IN Network calling in areas that would normally be roaming on the America's Choice plan.

Ah, so it covers the "America's Choice Home Airtime Rate and Coverage Area" map.... not the "Local DigitalChoice Home Airtime Rate and Coverage Area" map footprint. *throws up his arms* who the hell names this stuff!?!

I wouldn't bother to worry about the Local DigitalChoice plan unless you're on it. If you're on the America's Choice plan, which a large majority of our customers are on now, you only need to worry about the America's Choice map.

Is the new footprint retro-active for all customers using the in-network service or should they call in for a price plan change? I may have to tell my friends to call in if it's not.

You would have to be on AMC that originated in 02 04. If you look on your bill it should show the origination date after the description of the plan. Local plans have to move to a new 0904 calling plan. AMC fam share plans have to be 0804.

IN-Calling network wide went live 9/27/2004. check the date of the brochure you have.

1. IN-Calling is anywhere in the Red and dark Pink areas. If you are looking at a pair of maps where one is red and pink and there is another one that is greenish-brown then you have an old brochure and it should be disregarded.

2. The dark Pink area is included analog service. This is not roaming, contrary to what all the other carriers say. In this area you do not get caller ID, MMS, web access or get-it-now. Basically your digital features do not work. IN-Calling works here.

In a nutshell, IN-Calling works everywhere that VZW has digital AND included analog service.
