How does Tracfone stack up?

How does Tracfone stack up against Virgin Mobile for someone who only uses their phone for emergencies and a few conversations a month?

are you seriousley asking this question!!!!??!?! Tracfone sucks get virgin mobile which also sucks, but it is cheaper!

Yeah they charge an arm and a leg for "Units" aka minutes. dont do it. PLEASE!! 🙂

I have owned a Tracfone for 3 years with OK service which included lots of “no service” areas across the US. This month they stopped serving my Nokia phone without notifying me. After trying to use the phone I called their customer service tech reps and after 1 solid hour on the phone they told me that due to age they were no longer servicing that phone. I will have to buy a new phone and a $20 activation card before they will transfer my 852.5 minutes (worth $130) to the new phone.
Their service reps are from Columbia and Bolivia and they hung up on me twice when I insisted on talking to someone from the US.
I don’t want to purchase a new phone plus $20 activation and then have them cancel my service again???
I never heard of Virgin Mob...

Look FOR EVERYONE.... I work in the Tracfone call center (for my bad luck...but it pays the bills at the end of the month... if you know what I mean) anyway, I have been with them for 2 years now and not only the service is BAD, extremely lousy and useless, but the people that calls....... really....I hope thats minority in US.... please.
Anyways talking about your issue...the people in Bolivia and Colombia (not columbia) have NO idea. what you can do is just buy a new phone and transfer everything from your old one to the new one, NO PROBLEM. even so if your phone is not active they can do it. Now, lil tip, do not ask for somebody from US because NO ONE from US works in the call centers, I know only a few that work in ours... but some rep...

I will not take that personal because I know Im minority myself.... but there are reps that can actually speak and write english well. Now there are reps AND cust that cant talk even.
For example... i quote:

rep: "May I please have your phone serial number? is a number called E-S-N or I-M-E-I."

Cust: "The who?"

or

Cust: "The SLIM serial number?"

5 hours of that my friends and you want to kill them with the TF itself! sometimes I fell like saying: Ok, go near a window, extend the antenna, if u have one, on your TF... and now throw yourself out the window!!!"

geez.

Ok, you seem like a reasonable guy, so why the hell are you working for tracfone???

There must be some other outlets for you...

first of all... Im a woman... thanks 😛
And second, becaus Im still stufying and its a work that doesnt requiere much. and at the moment the country is high in unemployment. as I said before, it pays the bills.
I have fun times in there too though. its just that sometimes its a bit stressing, like ANY call center.
