Well i guess it was a load of BS, because that auction has been removed by Ebay. I tried to go to the link but that ain't happening anytime soon. Ebay shut that guy down.

No, ebay did not shut him down. The sellers name is aria cellular and I was just checking out his auctions 2 mins ago. He also has a couple sony ericssons that look sweet. I'm not worried about getting scammed, as far as not getting the phone. It's just that he touts that the phones he sells have a full transfer rate. I don't know what he's talking about and wondered if anyone could shed some light on the subject.

Regardless if that transfer rate story is true or not I think I'm going to get a sony ericsson w810i from him. As I understand from reading previous posts the phone should work ok on the cellone network, right?

if you buy a phone off of ebay from anywhere else that is not purchased from us, we in customer care and tech support have no way of trouble shooting the phone. your voice features might work and the SMS and MMS an data features 9 times out of 10 will not work. i highly recomend you try and get a phone from us or just wait because cell phones come out all the time and mabe the phone you want will come to us( i have no clue what phones we are getting as they dont tell us til it is confirmed) just some good advise.

I understand. I'm actually leaning towards the sony ericsson w810i and I believe that sony ericsson will send the settings to someone for sms mms etc for whatever carrier they have. I went on their site and got as far as putting in my phone numbers so they could send me the settings. I stopped there though because I don't have the phone yet. And I did read a previous post about someone using the w810i on the cellone network and it worked just fine.

I tested it out and it did work on our network. There were some MMS issues about it, though, that were suspect. If only we could have brought it out.....
