I recently purchased an unlocked motorola v620 off the net (ebay). It works when I put my sim card in but at first I couldnt get the internet browser to work but i finally figured it out by looking at my wifes razr phone and put the same info she had. It works now. Now I cant send or receive text or picture messages. I called the cell one customer service and they said nothing could be done because it was an unlocked phone and I guess it wasnt loaded with cell one software. Now I have a new v620 that i really cant use now. I like to text and send pics to my email and stuff. What can I do? Are all unlocked phones not loaded with carrier software? If so can they be loaded with the sepecific software? I want to get a new krzr but i dont want it...

First question is since it is unlocked, how many different WAP and MMS settings are in the phone? If there are more than 10 then you are going to have to put the settings in manually for MMS. As far as SMS, I have many unlocked phones and have not had to put SMS settings in them. You may want to contact your local retail store and have over the air settings sent. If you need help on putting the MMS settings in let me know.

I finally figured it out. I put in the browser and mms settings. I also had to configure all the options on the messages in and out. it was a pain but i figured it out using my wifes razr. Now I want to get a v3i razr, am i gonna have to do this every time i get an new phone, even though it says it cell one service? All i know is that the v620 I have wasnt really sold in retail stores. Not many carriers had it.

Well it depends on if it truely was on/from Cellular One. If it wasn't then you will have to add wap, mms, and possibly sms settings everytime.
