USCC Controlling States!!!
Even more, in Iowa 1 out of every 3 people carry a USCC phone.
These stats include everyone in the population not just those who have cellular service.
Personally i think that this is a pretty impressive stat, and i would like to know what the rest of you think. I would also guess that no other company is so dominate in the industry.
Most marketing firms survey a representative sample of the population.
I know in my part of the state in Iowa that is not the case, just my company alone, when I started working for them 8 years ago, everyone was USCC, including me, what happened, now the 50 truck drivers are verizon, and the company switched the corporate phones to verizon. And that is not all, everyone I know has verizon, my phone book only has 2 USCC numbers programmed into it. The USCC agent in town said he had less then 10 new activations last month, so, all I can say, in this part of Iowa, that ratio is way off, maybe more like 1 out of 10, and that may be to high....
USCC's own agents a...

verizon: 1100 anytime Unlimited IN Calling PLUS Unlimited Night & Weekend Home Airtime Minutes $59.99
uscc: 1000 anytime, Unlimited CallMe minutes, night and weekends @ 7pm $44.90
Looks like $15 bucks a month I would save!!!
Besides where I live Verizons coverage isn't close to USCC...
I see USCC has done some changes on their plans, such as unlimited n/w minutes for $4.95 instead of the 3000 it was yesterday, 3/14/2005.
there is no price comparison when you compare the plans with sharetalk, verizon walks away with that, the 1500 minute plan is $25 higher at USCC per month if you add in the unlimited n/w minutes, and 1 share talk, and at verizon, the extra sharetalk's are 10 a month extra half the cost of USCC.
And dont forget, at verizon, we can use our n/w minutes, m2m minutes everywhere in the red, everywhere america's choice is. So if you are a travleler, verizon, or cingular, ect. will win out against USCC, hands down.

Lets compare local plans. They don't compare. USCC has a far better deal.
I also don't think that you can fairly say that your little corner in northwest IA accurately shows what the rest of the state is doing for carrier usage. Thats why it was a state wide survey and not a northwest IA survery. I live in the Quad Cities in IA and I can accurately tell you that USCC exceed 1000 to 1500 activations per month.
That is what I am saying, the smaller guys will lose out in the long run. Verizon, cingular, and Alltel would not have the customer base they have if they did not offer the coverage they offer, and yes, they bought out companies to do this, companies such as USCC...do you see the point now, it will happen, it is just a question of when it will happen.
And for the one that said USCC did not have to buy out companies to get to the customer base they have now, you are wrong...as one post said, what about primeco USCC bought in chicago, and the area I am from, USCC bought from cellular one, so, yes USCC is doing the same as the other companies, just in smaller scale, w...

"Hey Jimbob! I can get coverage in BFE!!!
"Great Billybob, but you're not getting a signal here!
I can certainly understand that you may have difficulty with getting coverage with USCC if you live between those little boxes in north west IA. Based upon that Verizon may be a better choice for you. But for your average person who is NOT a truck driver and does not travel cross country most of the time, you don't need national coverage. Why pay for something that you don't need. Even if you do travel once in a while why overpay for something that you dont use 95% of the time.
i thought they had cb radio?!?! 🙄
