Can you "Roam Only" with Instinct?
Is there any possible way? Because if I switch I'm sure I will need to when I travel to certain areas.

The phone is is a digital dual only. Will only roam on 850 and 1900 CDMA.

what does that mean? It's not the same roaming as other Sprint phones? Because I spend 40% of my time in an area that does not have Sprint but does have Verizon. Can I roam and use all the features? Because if so, I'm sold!!!

I havent had the oppotunity to play with an instinct yet, but I would have to guess that it will probably be stuck in automatic mode like all other Sprint Pda's. Which kinda blows if you live in a spotty area.
I can competley understand the importance of roam only as I live in a house that just cant hold Sprint signal, so if I wanna stay on a call at home I have to switch it to roaming only.

I think what what the op may be asking (correct me if I am wrong) is, can the phone be set to a mode where it will only pick up a roaming signal? Most older phones were able to set the network mode in the settings menu to AUTOMATIC, SPRINT ONLY, and ROAMING ONLY. Some newer ones (i.e. BB Pearl) can only be set to AUTOMATIC or SPRINT ONLY.
Now for an answer to that, I don't know right now. (Sorry) As soon as I get into the store, I will play with our demo Instinct and give an answer if it hasn't already been provided.

You only can do Automatic and Sprint only with the Samsung Instinct. No option for roaming only.
