Sprint you just lost a 7 year customer

Wow. Is all I can say. my plan that I have had since 2003 just got changed with no warning whats so over by sprint. I went from free vision with text on both phones to 15 a month vision on each and no text. We had unlimited text on both and my wife is at 500 text messages that are now casual messages since we just noticed this change. We hav ecalled with no luck and told sprint can change the rates and so forth. I said your right but if I notify you within 30 days of the adverse change then I can cancel without the ETF. She said no you can't. I guess $60 a month is not a adverse change in her mind. We shall see how this plays out. But I rather pay 200 a month to verizon or alltel then do business with a company that works this way. Damn gr...

yes all the way up to retentions. They say after 7 months of having my M1 all of a sudden its not compatable with my service options. Which is my old vision plan. I thought it may have to do with EVDO but no my wifes fusic is perfectly compatable. So that is 30 a month for vision and text that was once free on both phones. 60 a months that would add! What bothers me the most is no warning no notice or anything. I only found out when I had $35 more on my bill and went and looked at it. And then they say they have the right to change my plan which they do but I don't have the right to cancel without a ETF which I do and its in Black and white on the Terms!

Hey, don't know if you canceled yet, but if ya haven't, try writing a letter to this address:

It'll be forwarded to a team called EHC(Employees Helping Customers), they should give you a call, & they'll probably be able to help you get your old plan back, or at least something that is close to it. Sorry to hear about your experience, I know how frustrating it is, I see it happen occasionally. Good luck, & let me know how stuff turns out.

i work for customer service. basically when you switch your phones to a new evdo model and you have old regular 3g vision capable features that went with your old phone, our system automatically removes any old plans or features that will not work with your new device. i am sorry that you were not told about this before you bought your device.

Let me say it for the hundredth time. I bought these phones over 7 months ago. And they worked fine. Then end of june ba, my old vision is gone with unl text messaging on both phones replaced with 1500 power vision phone no text which now is casula. AND NO NOTICE OR PHONE CALL. I was told this when I bought my phone 7 months ago. I simply said wait I don't want to do it then when they told me what you jsut said. They got a SUPERVISOR to unexpire the plan and all was well for 7 months. This is sprints fault not mine!

omgosh i HATE when i see posts like this and there's nothing i can do to fix it, its possible that i wouldn't be able to get the plan back the exact way you had it, but i'm about 99% positive i could, if you haven't already canceled yet i will try to think of a way you could get it fixed or i could do it for you monday when i get back to work if you want. Either reply to this or email me and i'll see what i can do. Im sorry you've had such a shi*ty experience lately.

Well to update I just got off the phone for the 15th time and over 3 hours of my time and they gave me vision for 10 a month on both phones and then a 10 credit for 2 years but they say there is nothing they can do for the txt ecept 8 for each phone. Thats 16 a month and I will give you its not that much I am so pissed how it all went down that 16 a month translates to 300 to me write now. Meaning I will settle for nothing but either what I had since 2003 or no etf. I am so pissed that a company can do this to a customer and then have the attitude its all my fault or something! If you can let me know because I am about to port to verizon or alltel as I can't stand GSM!

file a complaint with bbb, then write a letter on planetfeedback.com. one of these ways will get you what you need. if all else fails,contact state attorney office.

sounds like retention gave gave him the free internet but not the free text, which stinks cause it is possible to get free text ya just gotta be willing to work at it and cheat the system a little bit. i do it all the time these poor people ( at least the ones who aren't worthles and do pay their bill, oh and dont treat us like the scum of the earth) deserve to be taken care of not just given some half assed solution. but thats just my two cents.

And I'm gonna put it politely, because I respect you.

Did you change to an EVDO device when this change happened?

If so, thats the simple answer, and unfortunately, its the correct one. Changing to a new type of device requires different plan options.

The most common cause for the problem you stated is that you went from a phone that uses Shortmail (hence, no sms plan was needed) to a phone that uses SMS. Also, if the new device is an EVDO phone, then yes, you are supposed to change to an EVDO data plan.

Im sorry if this was not explained to you before, and yes, some people did slip by without changing plans, but the sms thing still applies.

If thats not what happened, then disregard this post, and I'm sorry you got screwed...

well I changed to the M1 about 7 months ago and yes they told me what you did. I said is there any way to keep the plan and they said hang on and got a supervisor. He said yes there is and it was done. Now 7 months later it jsut got changed no warning nothing. But what gets me is the fusic is a evdo phone and they say that phone is computable just not the m1.

I really dont see how it happened then. Sorry for your trouble. And obviously whoever you talked to, including this "supervisor" were all ignorant. As far as billing, there be no diff between the M1 and the Fusic.

if he's still in premiere all ya have to do is go into the plan, pull up maintain plans and unexpire the plans, about 90% of the time it'll letcha do it unless its past the bill cycle. in which case go to p2k and look up old text codes, theres something in there granted you may have to work around it a little bit, but just about anything can be fixed in p2k!!! And considering he had it for a while and it just disapeared it sounds like something that should be able to be fixed. but i guess he's goin some where else, i dunno if you want me to try and fix it e-mail me and i'll do what i can monday afternoon when i go in, if not, sorry! and good luck where ever your going!

I have to ask one big question which might clear up this whole mess. What billing platform is he on becuase if he was just switched to ensemble that is the most likely reason for the plan change becuase ensemble will not let you "cheat" the system and use old vision plan codes with an EVDO device. You would have to find comparable codes with retention to get the EVDO vision for $0 which cc does not have access to. I wish we did just for this reason becuase it would allow us to solve so many issues.

After talking to sprint and trying to resolve this I am done. You know had they called me and said hey we found this on your account and this is the best we can do to fix it. I would of said no problem. But they went about it so wrong I don't want to do business with them. I am soooo pissed they would do that. I like the 79.99 1000 min family alltel plan with free second phone, my circle and free 1000 messages on both phones. I love sprints service and will never talk bad about that part of sprint. But they will never survive doing this to customers. Well its 316am here and I am off to bed after wasting my night fighting with sprint!

I appreciate that. My wife is going to look at the phones with alltel and get some more info as I like to make a informed decision so if I don't go wtih them and I can cool off because right now I think if sprint offered me free service I would say no at this second in time. Lets see how I feel when I wake up lol. Thank you again though for your post!

Thank you for all the offers to help. However I just can't do it and signed up with alltel yesterday. My wife says she is happy so that makes me happy. I don't think I will forgive sprint for some time. But that does suck as I loved their service! But somethings are more important then service alone. Again thank you all!

I know about the 3rd pary vendors and how the company they support likes to go to Brown Town on them without the KY. I was once a Solectron employee working as a S&R technician in a Verizon Wireless retail store and still have friends down in FL who work for Convergys doing support for AT&T and Palm Treo.

yeah he was trying to prove something and I still don't know what. I know what I wrote and all he had to do was read it but he wanted to be stupid. I love "the network" people. They show good reason that even if verizon is as good as they say no one would believe them as they just rant all the time!

You know, im going to be nice for once... As a rep I do say that the change from the older $100+ plans that included vision and txt should cover ther Power vision phones. You are not the first person this has happend to. Since the introduction of EVDO (about the time I was first hired). For some this has been a 30 to $150 increase in their bill and some of those customers have been very loyal customers like yourself.

thanks. And I would have most likely paid the increase had I received like a 30 day notice or something. Not just my bill and surprise!! But this is old and the one that brought it back did so for who knows why. He was trying to prove something I still don't know what!
