Hey I have a sanyo 8200 and I'm waiting till Nov. so I can get my $150 rebate for a new phone, but compared to the other carriers, Sprint phones look really bad besides the newer ones like the Katana and one or 2 others. Anyone have a link or info about some new "kick-ass" phones that are coming out soon from Sprint?

There are a lot of quality phones from Sprint out right now. Get your hands on them, stop by a Sprint store/kiosk.

Sprint has Good phones!!??
Sprint has only about three phone in EVDO category and only about half dozen has blue tooth (not counting PDA), out of three EVDO a900 has battery issue while a920 & Fusic has tiny screen. And not to mention they all $$$$.

a900 only has a battery issue if you're constantly using the multimedia functions. I've talked to PLENTY of a900 users who state they have absolutely no problems with the battery life.

As for the Fusic, the screen isn't tiny...by any means. Are you wanting a 2" screen on a flip flop? In comparison to the a900 screen, the Fusic is small, otherwise it's not.

And yes, Sprint has plenty of good phones available.

rofl...flip flop. Yay for typing while on the phone.

That's obviously supposed to be flip phone...but a screen on flip flops is a good idea too.

I must say that ASRE, from the prior post, has a phenomenal grasp of the english language and its subsequent structure! I.E. "while most other sales for 199-299!!!","May be you have never compare with other carriers","most carrier is giving free razor while sprint has $99 and tahats they call SPECIAL promotion!!!".

Thank you for lending absolutely nothing whatsoever to this post, and may god have mercy on your soul and whomever gave you your GED! 😲

You are quite possibly the biggest idiot on this site. Are you 5? Other carriers are giving away free razr's because they have been out for a while, the Blade is newer than the razr and has alot more features.....features cost more money and that's probably why the phone costs more. If you are going to compare prices at least use similar products. When you go from $350 to $99, that is a special promotion.

I seriously hate these fricken people just trolling around in the carrier sites...

If you don't like Sprint...If you don't have any GOOD information to give to people...or If you're just plain being a jerk--why must you pass this onto other people.

You're just making yourself look uneducated to the other people that do know what they're talking about.

Forum is made to write your experience (good or bad) not to MISLEAD people. I won't say Sprint is a bad carrier but this is what I see as a customer that their phones are priced high!
And yeah I suck in grammar plus I hate typing, what matter here is post honest message (again good or bad) simple & short that can help others. please do not read my post if you can't take the TRUTH!

What makes your opinion the truth? All I said was if you are going to compare products, then compare like products. If you want people to take your "experiences (good or bad) seriously then atleast you can make them legible. --Just a thought.

I am currently sitting in here, at my SPRINT store looking at SPRINT phones. i see 13, that's right 13 bluetooth phones and 8 EV-DO phones on my shelf. I think you probably need to do more research on this because people walk in, see two phones on display and ASSUME... take the time to educate yourself on these issues. As for price, you want to go to T-mobile and get a free phone that was recalled by the DROVES for hanging up on customers during use, feel free, oh and be sure to check out how much coverage you lose as well! The RAZR coincidentally doesn't have EDGE or EV-DO (dependant upon network). It is about quality of phone sir. The Blade is 99.99 after rebate, but packs twice as many features in it. You want a RAZR, than grab a Katana, ...

I wonder people if Asre's hair would frizz out in all different directions if we spun Asre around say about a thousand times. I bet Asre wouldn't look as cute as the other TROLL dolls out there.

The Katana feels real cheap when you hold it in your hands compared to Sanyo's other offerings. For all intents & purposes, I like Sanyo's products, using an MM-8300 right now...

the katana is great for reception. and only feels cheap because it is lighter weight than sanyo has produced in the past.

I know I'll be eligible for my $150 instant rebate in November but I currently have the Samsung A940 and I love the design of it and the fact that it has a 2.0 optical zoom camera on it and not a digital zoom.

The A920 is the same phone but clamshell design and black, don't like that and it has a 1.3 mega pix on it. I like silver phones, i had the Sanyo 5600 before it.

Don't like the whole razr/blade aspect that everyone is hooked onto. To thin for me and not comfortable in my opinion. To each it's own.

So I am kinda just waiting to see what comes out near the holidays Sprint usually like to surprise around the Christmas season.
Maybe something will come out that cam be at least like my phone.

How are you still eligible for a rebate in Nov. if you currently have a phone that hasn't even been out for a year let alone 2? Is it a replacement? The 920 is dark blue, not black. I would suggest the Sanyo 8400, while it doesn't come in silver, it will be available in a white color. It is supposed to come out at the end of September so it should still be available in Nov. It will have most of the same features as your 940, so you won't really be losing much.

I cash bought my Samsung A940 because I wasn't eligible for my upgrade until November 2006.

I looked at the Sanyo 8400 but it would be more of a downgrade for me.

VGA of it is at 65,536 colors VS the 262,144 I have now.

Plus I take lots of pictures , i really like my 2+ mega camera and it has a 1.3.

Which is why I am awaiting for something fresh to come out. Hopefully they will.

You might want to make sure it still shows that you are eligible for the upgrade in Nov. Every time you do an ESN swap, it is supposed to start your upgrade over unless it was replaced with a reconditioned phone or a pre-owned phone. Go to sprintrebates.com and type in your info and it will tell you, if it doesn't say Nov. 06 then I would call Cust Care and explain to them that you did not receive any rebates on your current phone and have them either note your account or put a HUP code on your account to make you eligible. Just trying to save you some frustration later.

Thanks alot, I actually called and she told me the date changed. When I changed the ESN, I told her that I did not use any type of rebate that I bought it cash/out the door and she put all the notes on my account so that I am still eligible. So thanks for that note.

yea so I went to sprint last week and they told me I was eligble for my $150 rebate on the first of October not November. So now im looking to get a new phone but I'm not sure what to get. I was looking @ the Katana, but I heard somethings about it. I want a phone that is stylish and useful, oh and it has to be loud.
Any suggestions?

P.S. is it me or does every other carrier have better phones then Sprint?!

Well the Katana isn't going to be much different than your 8200. It has blue-tooth and it's thin and that's about the only difference. Plus downloaded ringtones aren't very loud on it due to the speaker being smaller to fit in a slimmer phone. Other than loudness what do you want? I am still going to recommend the 8400 or maybe even the 8300 depending on what you want. If you aren't going to use the MP3 or media player options on a power vision phone than there is no sense in spending the money to get a phone w/ those features. The 8300 is an upgrade to yours, they added video and it's a lot louder. The 8400 has video, 1.3 mega-pixel, MP3, and it's a power vision phone (faster web service where available). I have an A920 (samsung) it...
