Direct Talk battery life

Aug 8, 2013, 11:14 PM
We've been putting our old Nextel phones to good use around the homestead via Direct Talk. It seems to me that the phones use more battery in Direct Talk mode than they did in iDEN network mode. Anyone else using Direct Talk notice less battery life compared to when they were still running on the IDEN network?

Depending on the phone, the DT feature typically lasts only one day with moderate usage. The outlet malls is where these units really shine. They perform much better than analog walkies.
