Newsflash: Insurance!

Customer: I pay $7 insurance every month for this phone! Why do I have to pay a deductible?

Guess what? Every insurance company, be it health, car, phone, etc...charges a deductible. It's cheaper than having to buy a brand new phone, but it's never free. If your phone is water-damaged, physically broken, lost or stolen, you will be paying for it and that is it. It doesn't matter if you've had it for two years, two months, two weeks, or two days.

I've just spent the last ten minutes listening to our floor manager explain this to someone who thiks the rules don't apply to him. Please don't be that guy.

Good luck getting a customer like that to have common sense. It's pretty much a futile attempt...you waste your breath trying with some customers.

Also, don;t buy insurance from Radio Shack Best Buy or anyone else. They mislead you into thinking it is identical to Sprint's and then only offer a pro-rata refund if you have a problem. This is analigous to paying $1000 per year for car insurance and if your car is stolen they offer you a few hundred dollar refund on your insurance premium. what is worse is sprint is aware of this decepetive trade practice by their agents.

They aren't Sprint's agents, they are Best Buy's and Radio Shack's. These companies offer similar insurance for all major carriers, and all major carriers are aware of it. Don't pretend like this is something that Sprint sanctioned to trick people.
