Upgrade Elgibility WTF??

Samsung_luhv

Ok, so my mom cancelled her sprint contract for helio in december 07 and then went back to sprint in january 2008, and she got a text messgae saying she was elgible for $150 saving in upgrade after 9/01/08. I just checked it again to make sure, and sure enough thats what it says. And its only been 8 months...so why is she elgible for an upgrade and im NOT??

Well I just renewed my contract in December 07 and i checked what my upgrade status was, and it says im not elgible for a 2 yr contract till OCTOBER of 09 for 150, but In december 08, im elgible for $75??..so why is she able to renew her contract after 8 months and im not elgible to renew mine after 9 months??

THIS MAKES NO SENSE. WTF??

She may be a White Glove Customer. White Glove customers are eligible for full upgrade discount once per year.

How do you know you're the primary line? If its your moms acct then she is. Simple as that. Use her upgrade?

oooh goodness! this is confusing. okay.! lets figure this out:

ONE: Is your mother the one who is paying the bills?

TWO: For your phone, is there a monthly cost?? (example: 2nd line is free; line 3-5 is $9.99;; which one does your phone line fall under?)

well just because your mad at this doesnt mean you have to be so rude to me *whos trying to help you... but you still didnt answer my question: which line are you, one or two?

oh and how long have you had sprint?

and like someone else said, if you want a new phone just use your mothers upgrade if she doesnt want to use it.. =P

thats what it is. You guys are considered "Premier Customers" theres 2 ways of becoming this, you have to have a plan of $69.99 or higher for 6 consecutive months, or be a customer for 5+ years. The reason theyre asking what line you are is because the primary line is the one thats eligible every year for a full discount. It may be in her name and you may bepaying the bill, but i'll try to make it easier. When you call customer care, give em your phone # and they can check is your line 1 or 2. One will have a monthlly cost and the other will be an add on.you can use your moms upgrade, just be careful. If you swap out phones using her upgrade within 30 days your loose the Mail In Rebate. you can switch em after 30 days to qualify for the MI...

Go to a Corperate retail store with your mother, and the Red Carpet will be rolled over you I mean out for you. 😁 Seriously, bring your mother with you because she is the only one who can sign a two year agreement on her account. We will review the history of the account, make an assesment, then decide to upgrade your line or not. White Glove is specific in that Sprint has made money rather than lose money on this particular account. You have to ask yourself, when is a company going to eventually give so much away to a customer that it is no longer profitable? Sprint wants your business, but no company can just give away phones all of the time they are not free. If you pay ay least $100 a month before taxes that is $1200 a year. Then ask w...

i wasn't trying to come off as rude, but to me it sounded like you got an attitude.

ive had sprint for almost 4 years.

I AM ON LINE 1

Ok heres the story.....

At the END of LAST year...i was going to get a phone for christmas off ebay and then i found out i had an upgrade and didn't even kno i was elgible for one. I even went to the sprint kiosk and he said it was wierd too. And I didn't find this out till almost mid-december so i waited to renew my contract so i could try helio and i hated it after a week so i cancled within 30 days with HELIO!! and went to sprint and renewed my contract on december 17th, 2007. Well my mom transferred her number over to helio in mid-december so she would have the same number, and didn't have ...

well if you sensed an attitude from me then it was all on you because of your "duh" remarks and stuff like that. but anyway; Sprint_2008 gave a very clarifying description of what i was trying to explain.

at this point its kind of hard to tell which one of the two lines (yours or your mothers) has the premier customer/white glove status. you could always call and ask.. OR

you can log into your sprint account at sprint.com and take a look at both of your lines;; it wont necessarily tell you who is in the white glove program but it would at least clarify who's on which line. **maybe your not on line one?

I just logged in and my number is on top, it always has been on top.

and when i log in it doesn't show anything about being a sprint premier customer...

would i call customer service and ask them if i am a premier customer?

i have one more question...

do any of you know how much the ORIGINAL PRICE for the Samsung Rant is going to be?

your best bet is to call sprint and just ask if you are a premier customer.

So i talked to a sprint rep online today, and i asked her if i was a premier customer and she said no, its a corporate account, and i asked does that mean i get a full upgrade every year and she said no. Then i asked her why one line is elgible for a full upgrade and one line isn't, she said it seems like the dates are mixed up. So I could use my moms upgrade, but i dnt need the mir, so then id go to a sprint store and just have them switch phones. but if the phone is around 250 full retail then ill use my 75 upgrade.

If i use my 75 upgrade in october, does that mean ill still have a 150 upgrade next october.

Okay.....question for you...when your mom reactivated line in jan 2008......did she keep the same # she had in dec 2007.....and it sounds to me that the retention department may have supplied the new phone she got in jan 2008.....when upgrade is done on an account.....it sometimes does not reset the upgrade elig.....so if she had the same # and retention sent the phone....because this is diff department or the way the upgrade processed.....it may be that in dec 2007....her $150 upgrade would have been upcomming anyhow.......HINT....sprint upgrade elig had been based on how long the phone was on the line of service (long while back) and this meant that any time a customer swapped their phone...their upgrade elig was reset....think back to th...
