Q Chat question for Sprint Reps

I bought the LG LX400 Q Chat Phone off of ebay and received it in the mail today. It's not for sale in my area yet, so that's why I bought it off of ebay. The screen quality stinks, but the sound of ringer downloads, and the speed of the phone menu is awesome! I'm pleased. BUT, my DC (Qchat) doesn't work yet. I called when activating the phone and they gave me a DC number, but my phone will not connect to the DC service. Dumb question, but I'm guessing its because the phones are not for sale in my area yet, so the service isn't available? Does anyone know when it will reach SC yet? I'm an hour from Atlanta, and they have it already.

Hi, I'm not a Sprint rep but I bet if you go to "buzzaboutwireless.com" and create an online profile, one of the administrators or members might be able to help you out.

The only way your are going to be able to use that phone is to;

1. Be in a EVDO REV. A area

2. Change you phone number and DC number to an area that supports Q chat.

I'm in a area that does not support it due to our neighbor iPCS market, and I can sell the phone, but without the 2-way.

step 1)you have to make sure they attached the correct codes onto your plan

step2)
menu-settings-data-update vision profile

step3) settings- there should be a link that says DC- update dc profile

step 4) put in the UFMI ( nextel number with stars in it 126*34543*1) or the phone number to another q-chat phone

step 5) press the button!

you aren't gonna be able to dc without being in a rev-a market...that is why the phone is not for sale in your market

That, or you're in or near a iPCS market, which is going to open up on the 2nd. (fingers crossed)

the reason why it wasn't available in your area is because it wouldn't work yet which why you have that problem...
