Sprint is now sending business to their competitors for any repairs. Guess whats going to happen when the customer wants to upgrade or purchase new phones. No wonder they are losing customers. Are they going to start closing corporate stores now?

I work in a repair store. Originaly there were a lot of stores with 1 or maybe 2 tech's in them. The wait times could easily go to 2 or more hours to have your phone worked on depending on traffic.

Now they have taken tech's and moved them into more central locations. So instead of having say 6 techs in 4 or 5 locations and making customers wait at least 1.5 to 2 hours, not you will have 6 techs in 1 location and a customers phone can be done in around 30 minutes. The customer unfortunately will have to drive a little further sometimes, but they end up taking less time out of thier day to get thier phone taken care of.

I don't know is this is how things have been set up all over the country, but in my area we did this and it is w...

In our area customers now have to drive for an hour to a sprint repair center plus as you say wait 1/2 hour to have the phone looked at plus the drive back. In my book that is minimum 2 1/2 hours. Lets don't forget the cost to drive. Have you seen the cost of gas lately. OR they can goto a local NON sprint repair center 10 minutes away. Like to take a wild guess where they are going? Most cases the store had you leave your phone and pick it up later so you didn't have to wait. That is before it closed.

If the customer has insurance on their account, and take the phone to an authorized dealer, they may have to pay for the repairs. It's the dealers call if he's going to charge you (remember he's not making any money of insurance like the corporate stores are. Not to mention that if an authorized dealer ruins your phone while working on it, you have no recourse. Sprint is not going to compensate you or give you a new phone. Also, who know where or how those tech were trained? In a corporate location you know they had formal training and didn't just decided they could fix phones.

I guess thats "sprints" offereing to the table because in the nextel days... with the service and repair plan on your account.. you were not charged no matter who did the work.. those centers had to comply with nextel practices for repairing phones and got all their supplies from nextel.. ohh yea nextel backed their work too so if they inadvertently fudged up your phone nextel would take care of... WELCOME TO THE NEW SPRINT.... where they send you someplace else and then dont honor the work done by the place they sent you??? does that make sense??
