Even though I indicated that I would rather not type this out in a forum, by way of my request to email me directly, I will answer your question in the best way I can, briefly.

The reason you should not get a hybrid phone is that if/when you do, your account must be forced into the new billing system. The wonderful thing about this is that half of our reps don’t realize that, and therefore, your account gets HOSED. By "hosed" I mean that it will not work, and it will take you days, if not longer, to find someone intelligent enough to fix it.

I say this not because most of the reps are dumb. Quite the contrary. Most of the reps put into this billing system's queue are from Advanced Technical Support. They have the ability to fix almos...

I've activated quite a few of the new hybrid phones without any trouble at all. If you call the correct department when doing the activation you won't have any problems. My customers that have switched to Hybrid have been more than happy with the service they are receiving on their new phones. My store has not had even one returned yet.

Pray your customer's don't travel off the PCS wireless networks seeing how the two PowerSource handsets currently being offered can't roam on 850 MHz CDMA networks which from what I've seen has been deployed in the majority of rural and subrural markets are using which is why Alltel Wireless seems to have a corner market in these areas.

Here's what I know about Sprint Nextel Inc.'s PowerSource handsets, the Motorola ic402 and ic502. Both of them will only operate on 1900 MHz (PCS) CDMA 1xRTT wireless networks for voice and data services as well as the 850 MHz iDEN network for PTT so if you take either of these two PowerSource handsets somewhere that is 850 MHz CDMA 1xRTT, you will have no service for either voice nor data. The iDEN PTT may still work provided an iDEN network has been deployed in the area you're in with the PowerSource handset. Even within the 1900 MHz (PCS) CDMA 1xRTT networks, you still may experience no service issues if there are holes in the coverage. I'd steer as far away as possible from the PowerSource handsets until Sprint Nextel Inc. is able to com...
