Schmooey Wireless, a useless little network over in Oprahville, Oprahoma has announced that it will acquire Tracfone for 81.45 Billion Monopoly Dollars. The new merged company will form a new logo and identity and will operate as an MVNO under Schmooey Wireless's subsidiery brand: CRAP Wireless.

I can't find anywhere that says what network they are using. If it's not verizon, who's network is it?

First let me say that I have two Tracfones and have been using them for several years.
My wife's was due to be extended and there was an offer on Tracfone for 400 minutes, an new Motorola phone for a year. It was less expensive than just purchasing additional minutes and a year service. So I proceeded to order it.

When I submitted the credit card I was told that the card was rejected (first time in my life) and I should go back and verify the information, which I did; twice. Stupid me I thought the card was bad as we had pushed it up pretty high with the wife's dental bills. So I used another card and it too was rejected. OK, something's wrong with Tracfone's system, right?

I called and placed the order with a human (not in the USA)...

Okay, you might all think i am stupid but this is a serious question. The company is Tracfone. Is it said like TRACKFONE or TRACEFONE?!?! I was just wondering. You can all laugh at my stupid question now b/c I know that is what you are waiting to do.

they should just stop making these. really. i had tracfone about 2 years ago. i cant believe i used to have the nokia 1100. and not to mention how horrible their minute plans are. as a boost i875 owner i can tell you that Tracfone is pure crap

Someone yesterday called in to cancel their account cause they dont use their phone that much, which was ok. I helped him but he said he still needed a phone.

So i offered Tracfone and went to the website and told him all about it.

He said he's on his way now to wal-mart to go buy it!!!

I have had TracFone for about three years, and oddly, have had almost no problems. I have had one call dropped, and have had good customer service porting numbers and so on. That being said, I am going to Cingular because I want a phone with more bells and whistles.

I apologize if real questions aren't allowed but...I have one.

I've recently purchased a new Tracfone Motorola C261 phone which includes web service. I am able to download ringtones, graphics, etc however I am unable to use the 'Go To URL' function under the 'Web Access' screen. I am able to type in the URL and start the web browser HOWEVER, I consistantly get an 'HTTP ERROR 403: FORBIDDEN' message. My phone IS active and I have sufficient minutes (over 200). My father, who has the Motorola V176 phone, is having the same problem. I am trying to access pages that I know for a fact should be accessible as they are WML pages. Is there any reason for this? Has anybody else had this problem?

I got a trafone from one of my friends and the service was expired, so I can't use it until I get another card. Well I was screwin around with it and went into the code entry mode, and then hit exit and it said service disabled. So now on the desktop, or whatever you call it, it says Service Disabled in place of the due date for a new card that it had previously displayed. What's the deal? It's it still working and I will be able to add a card to it?

we are retired and spend 7 months in Pa. and 5 months in Fl and are looking for a phone service that we don't have to pay a monthy usage charge, because we only want the phone when on the highway, back and forth and in emergency situations, where the land phone might not be working. I have been looking at Tracfone, but am not sure that we can use it both places, as you have to list your area code where you would be using or buying it. Any suggestions?
