LG phones

Is anyone here gonna pick up the VX5550, I'm happy with my 4400. I'm just currious as to who was gonna pick it up. If you get it tell me what you think of it!

Getting a vx6000...

Well, the vx4400 has served me well, but I think it is time to get a new toy with a camera on it 😁 . Thing is, when not signing up for a new plan the vx6000 is pretty expensive.

I was wondering if there was a way to get a credit on turning my 4400 back in and using it toward a 6000 or if anyone had one they wanted to sell? Also, is it possible to take a Verizon programmed 6000 and have US Cellular reprogram it to work on their network? On ebay getting a 6000 for Verizon is cheap and no problem... Thanks in advance!

SPC code snafu

In my usual quest for tracking new coverage, I loaded the latest USC PRL into NAN2 of my Verizon 3589i. These are the sorts of things I do to come up with the info I have on markson.net.

One would have assumed that USC would not SPC lock a phone that did not have active USC service, but one would be wrong.

Now I have to go through the unfortunate process of finding a way to get the SPC lock code from USC.

If anyone here can help me do that I would very much appreciate it. Yes, I know, the codes are not supposed to be given out. However, special circumstances deserve special accomodations.

I was hopeful that I could use bitpim, but it does not support the 3589i.

On the chance that anyone could help me, the ESN is 04303807094 ...

Can the store update my software?

Hi,

I got a Samsung SPH-A460 phone from my friend. It was a Sprint phone, but we believe is designed to work the same on the US Cellular network here in Chicago also (Trimode CDMA, 1900/800 digital, 800 analog). The phone MSL/SPC thing is unlocked, and I was wondering if I take it into the US Cellular store, will they be able to put the US Cellular software on the phone and activate it for me? All I really care about is if they will turn the phone on, but it would be nice if they could put their software on it too. 'Cause now when the phone starts up it says Sprint.

Thank you very, very much for your help.

Chris.

SPC Codes have a purpose......

The SPC codes are important for any cellphone company's retention. Even is you disagree with the very idea of an SPC code, it is still against company policy to disclose this proprietary information, especially on a web forum where you have NO idea who you are speaking with. You could be giving out these codes to a competing carrier, putting our stability and your own job at risk.
So, PLEASE THINK before you break policy and give out SPC codes, especially if you are doing it from your work PC, as the IP is being logged. 😲

US Cellular's Web Page Revised

Anybody noticed that US Cell has updated their web pages? Looks like as of May 4 or so. They now talk about picture sending.
And, at least in my area (New England) they have eliminated Nokia phones from their CDMA selections, and raised the prices on most of the other phones. LG Vx4400 now $109.00 even with a 2-year plan.

Oh well....

6585

So what does everyone think of the 6585i? It seems that phone will be replacing the 3587i, apparently that one wasn't quite up to snuff. That's fine with me, I'm bored with the 3580 series anyhow 🙂

Nokia 6255i

Just read a description of Nokia's new flip phone for CDMA, the 6255i. Supposed to be available 4th Quarter of 2004. If I am not mistaken, it's their first venture into flip phones. It has a camera and numerous other goodies.
Hope they also come out with one comparable to LG's VX4400, for those of us who don't feel the need to take pictures on our phones .
Hopefully, our friends at US Cellular will decide to carry Nokia's new offerings. The 6255i is BREW compatible, so I assume it'll work with their Easyedge.

4400 and other EE phones

Hey all. I haven't tried it yet but i was curious if anyone has tried putting an email address on a 4400 for example and tried sending pictures from a 6000 or 8900? Or maybe tried putting EE w/ PMS on a 4400? Wonder if this works? I manage 5 stores so I haven't had a chance anyone out there tried yet??

Nokia 3586i Webbrowser and applications

Hi. I noticed that my recently gotten US Cellular phone (Nokia 3586i) has these features mentioned in the manual (and pictured on the box) but are missing from my phone. I would like to install some applications on my phone and use the wireless web... is it possible to turn these on? And if, so, how?

Thanks a bunch!
