The original iPhone didn't have 3g or 4g even when used on AT&T, so obviously there are one or two people out there who might want to use an iPhone even if it is only EDGE. I can't remember how many of the first iPhone were sold and I don't want to overstate it, but I think it was at least 1 or 2.
