vodafone or cingular which one do you want?
if vodafone gets it there will be ugly labels all over there phones
...
Cingular! only because i work for them....lol
...
personally i like the vodafone logo, it looks good on the manchester united jerseys, i work for att so i dont want the sale to go through. but who cares about logos on phones? could we be anymore vain, peoples jobs are at stake.

I agree with Vodafone. Vodafone taking over would allow many currently working for AT&T to keep there jobs. Should Cingular take over the headlines of the newspapers the next day will say, "Nation's Largest Carrier to Layoff Thousands" just as someone mentioned on HoFo. Vodafone will also finally have their own company here, instead of a large minority of one. This is Voda's best chance to secure this opportunity. Verizon seems reluctant on selling, and should Cingular and AT&T merge, buying that new entity would be even more unlikely.
Besides it will make the upcoming Sharp GX-30 much cheaper for everyone here.

I hope cingular get at&t. I lived in Australia for two years and I swear, I've never had such a bad phone company. People actually told me that where I was staying was actually the best phone service you'll get from vodaphone. Since living in the United States, Cingular in the best service I've ever had. Plus I hear that the only good Vodaphone service is in England, and that everywhere else, don't expect much.

Cingular.
This industry needs consolidation. Six national carriers is just insanity. If Cingular buys AT&T, having one less national carrier to compete against helps everyone, including the new company.
Plus, they would be able to combine networks, spectrum, etc, which would enable them to provide better service. It would also leave them with excess spectrum and equipment to shed, which they could sell to other carriers who badly need it.
They should also have enough spectrum to launch WCDMA in most areas. đ
But if Voda is the winner, none of those things happen. We'll still have six struggling national carriers.
I think the Vodafone bid is mostly just a product of Arun Sarin's ego. He wants the world. His shareholders don't...

đĸ thank you kettlehead. i finally found a company i love, people i love to work with and for and now who knows what it will be like. cingular has such a bad reputation for their customer service that we'll loose even more customers. personally, i vote for vodaphone just because no one has heard of them here.
...
I'm not a subscriber to either one but I'd say Cingular.
I agree with pretty much all of the reasons stated previously.
Plus Vodaphone has done great with VZW. Why give up a US industry leader for a slumping one?
I say let Cingular and AT&T get married, both of their services aren't all that good in my opinion. Maybe there will be some improvements, consolidation is always good!

I'm going for Cingular. I agree with what Rich said, and I've also heard a lot about what Vodafone has done to the other markets where it exists. We'd be better off with a bigger Cingular.
...
I say if it has to be one or the other give me Cingular. Once the merger is complete we get faster EDGE because so far AT&T is got is most of its major markets and finally a large GSM provider here in the US...I mean personally I would have loved to see T-Mobile make a bid but now...I am going to sit and watch...and if vodafone came in...GSM and W-CDMA...i think that is a awesome combo as well. But give me a large US GSM provider and finally kill off TDMA!!! đ
