Sprint Issues Statement Regarding AT&T / T-Mobile Deal
Sounds like Sprint is bitter
You guys honestly think this would have better the other away around?
Verizon = 102 Million
AT&T = 95 Million
Sprint + T-Mobile = 82 Million
Sprint + T-Mo would have only made them equal with AT&T and Big Red. You'd have to deal with 3 monster companies. Only worse. The Sprint + T-Mo deal would have been a mess. CDMA, IDEN, GSM, WiMAX and then LTE????!! Not to mention the frequencies. 800, 850, 1700, 1900, 2500. ...

But, kinda like death, I'm not sure what's to be done about it.

Truthfully DT had little choice. I dont think anyone is blaming them. But having 3 equal companies is much better than having 2 supergigantamongous companies and one 1/4 the size. Well better for the market anyway.

I agree. AT&T + T-Mo will be just too damn big. I'm surprised Big Red didn't have anything to say about this. I'm sure we'll be hearing from them shortly.
Sadly either way, stores will be closed, customer service centers shut down and thousands will be left out of work.

My job is all I'm worried about. 😳
Maybe but....Sprint's incompetence and inability to compete is the fault of no one but Sprint.....Sprint isn't smaller than at&t and Verizon because those two companies are engaged in some kind of nefarious conspiracy, it is smaller because Sprint more or less sucks, and people know it.
It's like....when you watch a badly lopsided football game where one team just scores touchdown after touchdown and the other team can't even gain ground...and the game ends 73-10 you can complain about 'running up the score' but there is only so much you can do to keep from scoring...what are you supposed to...

My point exactly. It may be a bitter pill to swallow for some but thats the sad reality. Sprint sucks. Plain and simple. Between Sprint, AT&T and Verizon there are about 246 million subscribers. If Sprint were any good, it would have been a 3 way split with each carrier having more or less 80 million subscribers respectively. But the numbers speak for themselves.
You can't put two loser companies toget...

Seriously, one's ability to operate at a loss as VZW and Cingular did for years and leverage their parent companies' resources to buy rivals doesn't make them more successful or savvy. It's great fortune.

Not necessarily true. I think we can all agree that the Sprint Nextel merger was the most epic failure in recent wireless history. It's a dark remembrance of poor business decisions. But you must remember that the merger started in 2004. It wasn't until 2007 that Hesse joined Sprint. Since his arrival, he has literally saved Sprint from a once-im...

He set many trends in the wireless industry, such as Any Mobile, Anytime and 4G. He vastly improved customer service to the point that it was recognized by JD Power. Hesse has made Sprint a decent wireless company - far from the once-horrendous Sprint that we all know and loathe. There is no denying that Sprint has made a significant improv

I apologize for earlier tactics, but my main concern is the lask of acknowledgement that individuals make regarding issues. Ibid come off rather pointed. I just feel Sprint was forced to change and they did. One of the most respected aspects of an individuals mindset, is to adapt to change. To recognize Sprint was on the brink of destruction and has had a dramatic comeback, is only adherent to this comprehension.
My whole point was that 43 million people feel Sprint is the best choice and 34 million think TMO is the best choice. Now TMO is going to acquired by a company they did not want part of in the first place. Lost choice!
This was my whole argument for quite sometime.

My answer is a resounding yes. Three monsters are better than two. With two price fixing is easier. Even if the two do not actually collude they may as well. With three and Sprint paying lip service to being the different carrier there was a chance. I was against the Sprint acquisition as well, I would prefer someone come from the outside and actually try to BUILD T-Mobile into a viable competitor than the Big Two rather than whine about the lack of dividends the carrier is bringing in, but out of your two options it really is no contest.
