It Was Inevitable...

that VZW would start bolstering their advertising push for LTE. It is; afterall, right around the corner for them.

I wish Verizon luck and a great venture. It doesn't matter if an individual chooses LTE or WiMAX. In the end, we all should enjoy the benefits of a faster internet experience.

I signed up for email notifications! Hopefully competition will cause there to be a speed war between Sprints WiMax & Verizons LTE. These technologies are both capable of far, far better speeds than 5-10mbps.

Sprint/Clear has an edge because their Wimax is still unlimited. Where as Vzn's LTE will not be. When I had Clear I was watching a lot of Hulu, and I would use about 35gb/mo. So it'll ber interesting to see if Vzn is stingy with their data plans or not.

I've used nearly 11gb's on my Motorola Droid, and I still have 6 days left in my billing cycle. I don't have home internet, or cable tv, so my Droid is my way of getting all my regular news, tech news. It's my portal to the world!

i do get a kick out of these people who argue whos better then who and who has the fastest data speeds.. does it really matter if one company has 9mpbs compared to 6 mpbs, are you really going to tell a huge difference? some people really need to get out of mom n pops basement and see some light!! 😁

No gentle stabs here. I have friends and family that work for VZW. Who am I to wish harm on their livelyhood?

While I love the value of Sprint and WiMAX, LTE will keep it in check.

In check how? By capping and charging up the ass? lmao. No thanks, I'll stick with Sprint and WiMAX. Verizon is scum no matter what they do. They don't have to compete so they don't and that's the problem.

Awwww what's wrong??? Can't handle the truth. You know I'm right so you had to resort to petty insults. It's okay though, I understand. Sorry, I don't like paying for a service that overrated, overhyped and overpriced like you do. Sprint gives me a much better deal, even with the $10 more a month for 4g. Verizon is arrogant and treats their cusstomers like battered housewives because they know they don't have the strength to leave

Actually they don't, as countless surveys have shown.

countless surveys hmm, who do you actually think they use on them surveys? i was with verizon for 8 years and left because of their customer service but in the end there will always be suckers who think they have the best customer service!! im now with sprint and i get the exact same service as verizon with the same coverage all for the price of 80 a month. but you people keep bending over n taking it in the a** from verizon and ill enjoy the exact same service for half the price 🤣

The surveys are done b independant companies. Their methods are easily found via google. If you don't believe them look them up.

And no, you don't get the same service and exact same coverage.

Faster speeds if you can get them.

again, coverage is the issue. And no, you don't "Get coverage wherever verizon does." especially when it comes to high speed data.

Sprint is great for a lot of people, but it's not "The same coverage/service as verizon, only cheaper."

Calling it that does a disservice to sprint because it makes it seem like their actual (native) network sucks and without roaming, they would be nothing. Thenn all someone has to point out is that most of Sprint's greatest strengths (Any mobile anytime, decent data speeds, etc) don't work while roaming and the customer is again left with a negative impression of the company.

Add to that the millions of former sprint/nextel customers who left before they improved...

God! You guys are arguing like two meat head has beens over what high school team is better.

I love it! I have worked for Sprint in the office for 10 years and I've gotten a real kick out of this mindless banter.

I carry the EVO and it will be about 12 months from its release date before it has any serious competition as it and the NOW Network crushes any woodby offerings and when that time comes I will be making my call to do an ESN swap and upgrade and remain on the NOW Network.

HTC manufactures what is some of the best equipment in the industry and I am positive my next device will be an HTC as my last five have been HTC

I was saying that his arguing was doing nothing positive because it was missing the point (a point you seem to know because you mentioned the PRODUCT (your phone) instead of price)

I'm not arguing that either "team" is better. I'm just pointing out that the type of trolling he's doing does more to harm sprint's brand than it can help it.

How is it trolling? The poster simply provided his opinion on the matter. All because you don't agree doesn't mean that the poster is trolling. Trolling is what someone like bluecoytoe does by intentionally getting folks riled up by making misinfofmed comments regarding Android OS and having biased favoritism towards Apple.

I'm also a Sprint customer. A...

actually it's not. You need to look at the coverage issue (wimax will be very difficult to push out past the cities because of how it works) and it all depends on what the cap is.

If I lived in a city with wimax, I would have it no question, but I don't. And if it does come here, it wont be for a few years. My Brother has wimax through clear, but he recently came from sprint to verizon for his phone because his job frequently takes him places where sprint won't work.

When you're talking cellphone plans, there is never a single company/plan for everyone.

actually you do get coverage anywhere verizon has coverage!! i spend alot of time in the mountains an rural areas and i get coverage and my speeds are not that much slower then verizon speeds while im roaming.. you dont have to give me your spill about verizon because i was with them for 8 years and left them due to super high bills and hidden fees, i have been with sprint now since may of last year and have yet to call their customer service but with verizon it was a monthly thing!! im very happy with sprint and i have no problem with wimax here in slc infact i have been so happy with it i went out and got clear internet and couldnt be happier with my speeds!! you can call it trolling or whatever but im just a customer who sees what i see a...

No, you don't.

You might get it where you are, but Sprint's coverage is NOT verizon's coverage. They have several select roaming agreements, but most of these (unless you are in an alltel area) are for 1xrtt only. The only time you roam on verizon 3g is if you're roaming on an old alltel tower.

If sprint works great for you, then great, but perpetuating the lie that sprint=verizon's coverage helps no one and only enforces the stereotype of sprint as a second tier carrier.

until Sprint proves they are a carrier to conted with. They're getting there.

They just need to replace their currently lobotomized marketing department with some actual talent and verizon/ATT might actually have to pay attention to them.

And LTE will keep wimax in check (and vice versa) because it will force both to continuously innovate.
