if you buy a lingerie for your woman, you want her to wear it as lingerie!, not put something to cover it!
if you bought a new car, would you buy those ugly front mask to cover the front of your new car? haha

Netboy, i think we're the minority on this one, but im glad to see im not alone. I would return the device, and be forever burned by apple. Why would you pay $200+ for a device that you cant properly use unless you cover it up, have all kinds of particles get under the cover over time and tarnish the finish on your device so not only do you never get to enjoy its splendor and newness (if you want to make phone calls) but after having it for a while its all beat up looking as though you never had a case in the first place? This has always happened to me with cases... They offer excellent fall protection, but theres ALWAYS abrasion inside the case over time, so this is NOT a solution in my eyes. Only iPhone zealots could even see this as ...

Abrasion only happens with plastic.

The case isn't necessary for everyone. Most people have been been able to use their iPhones without a hitch without a case, myself included, even though on the lower level in my home I'm able to produce the attenuation issue (long story short, it wasn't much of a problem.)

For most people, a case isn't necessary. For some people who don't want to have to worry about how they hold it, a case is necessary.

I have a case and it now is a complete non-issue. I don't mind owning a case because I've owned one on all of my past iPhones.

If you honestly want to settle for a lesser phone because you're morally opposed to using a case, then return it.

Which is exactly why I stated that thats precisely what I would do. There is abrasion to the glass on my 3G from my neoprene case, though i was referring to the abrasion on the metal back plate, not the glass. You're funny... the one and only leg up the iphone4 has on the newest Android is that its screen display more colors than the human eye can see... WTF?!?!?!? I really need that feature... for my bionic eyes... yea, thats it... So lesser phone, I think not, try one before jumping to that conclusion, I at least did that for about a year now with Apple.

No, it's that the iPhone 4 has a higher pixel density than the eye can perceive.

Beyond that, there are numerous advantages the iPhone 4 has over the range of Android handsets today.

the range is vast, but if apple is putting their best effort up against google's best effort, there are none aside from the pixels.

Did I miss something? I believe I stated that I have on this and many other posts. Maybe you missed that. I own a 3G... The difference being the new found pixels, a flash for the camera, slightly thinner build... um.... uh.... Oh, more memory, faster processor, and that I cant make phone calls. Have I covered everything? I found ALL of this (sans lack of calls, again) most of it pre existing in my Android Device, so after the iPod Touch then the iPhone 3G, im good on those, neither needing to nor looking to try this latest regurgitation of the same phone. Thanks though.

We're not talking about the 3GS (which would be a "regurgitation" that you refer to), we're talking about the Iphone 4 douche. Its a completely different design. Basing your experince on a outdated phone (the 3G is at LEAST a year old, maybe 1.5) is retared. Try comparing two same generation phones

retared huh? And here I was thinking we could forgo the name calling. And where the &*!! did you even come from with "we were talking about"??? The garbage phone uses the same everything as both prior REGURGITATIONS of the first iPhone. This is like me taking a Pinto, repainting it and putting a Porsche Boxter engine in it and saying, "its completely different from the Pinto", lol. Since after all you are retared, let me clarify: The processor and screen hardware may be new, but that doesnt set the phone apart from its triplet sisters. They all run the same iTunes format, shop in the same App store, and make the same calls on the same garbage network. These are after all the features that make up 90% of the iPhone experience. Its a co...

Does your Iphone 4 have live wall papers, does it play flash, does it play Divix, does it have a flashlight,is it fully customizable, does it have 3d application drawer, does it have a 3d desktop when you turn to the next page. Can you please tell me a feature that your iphone has that a android does not? I only hear you talking out of your A$$ and never ever compare the phones them selves.

1) No. Instead I get excellent battery life. I'll live without live wallpapers.

2) I can get mine to play Flash content and H.264. Why would I need it to play Flash? And to be fair, unless you have a Nexus One or rooted Droid no Android handset plays full Flash.

3) Yes it has a Flashlight. Yes. With the LED. Yes, it was free. It can even strobe light. Obviously you've never used one.

4) 3D Desktop? No, it just has a usable launcher interface that is efficient and works extremely well.

Here are some other things I have:
1) A Multitasking setup that doesn't kill my battery.
2) A Multitasking setup that doesn't impact my device's performance- even after a week of heavy use.
3) 1.2 Mbps upload speeds.
4) 3.9 Mbps download speeds....

I bet you wouldnt be asking why would you need it to play flash if the iPhone4 did it, lol.. so funny.

My battery life i will admit is a bit of a rollercoaster as I try various different roms and configurations on my rooted Android. Sometimes its great, oftentimes its not. Live Wallpapers are an option (that you lack). If I worry about my battery life, I turn them off. Why does this need to be something you should have to worry about? Its not, just dont ever turn them on in the first place, lol.

ROFL My blackberry curve had a flashlight 2 years ago... why is this even a comparison? But since it is, I will point out that my Android device has a dual LED flash light:-)

I cant imagine what type of everyday multitasking that gets do...

1) Also, my wallpapers look *gorgeous* on my iPhone 4. I'll have to settle for gorgeous stationary wallpapers.

2) No, I hate Flash. Part of my livelihood is converting Flash content to HTML5 / AJAX / Javascript. I hate Flash for a variety of reasons- I hate how it bogs down my computer, and how it bogs down my Nexus One. It needs to die.

3) Those upload/download speeds are in Charlotte, NC on AT&T's network. Faster than what I've been able to pull on CLEAR's WiMAX Network there as well. AT&T's network seems to consistently pull up a ~1.2mbps upload speed everywhere with 3G coverage, too, which is unheard of.

4) Your keyboard is larger, but try holding the shift key and typing a letter. There you see the problem.

5) Why would yo...

I still have yet to read from your or hear anything that your phone has that the android does not. Dont say that you have all ready have because one they both browse the web, they both have video chat regardless if it is fring or not. They can both send and receive slide shows. What application function does the Iphone have that the Android does not, is that clear enough for you?

Name another Android phone that shipped with an integrated, functional Video Chat freature comparable in quality to FaceTime. (hint: Fring is not comparable in quality)

Now deduct any Android handset that doesn't have a front facing camera. I don't carry around a mirror.

Name a single piece of Movie editing software on Android.

Now deduct any Android handset that can't make it through a full day (that's the Evo and Incredible in case if you need help.)

Get the picture?

Dude... Evo didnt ship with Fring.. whats this obsession with that software that you have? It shipped with Quik. Sidenote: Are we also subtracting for phones that wouldnt let you video chat with anyone who didnt have the exact same phone?

So far we have 2 with front facing cameras to your 1... whats your point? Oh! and both of our FFC's are higher quality than yours, lol.

Now I could be as petty as you and say that I have a life, I dont need to hover over my cell phone and edit a video, or even ask why would I ever want it, but I wont do that... So fine, you have video editing software bundled with the phone. Congratulations.

1) thats just the point. i dont have to "settle". Neither do you, really. Plenty of android out there.

2)Im a fan of HTML5 myself over flash, but flash is as popular as your precious phone, so it might not be a bad idea to embrace it.
I learned to appreciate Apples phone for what it was, then moved on to bigger and better things.

3)Its unheard of because it does not happen. We've been through this already.

4)Um, what? Since we're both carrying touchscreen keyboards here, being able to hold shift and type a letter at the same time would be the first true form of innovation ive heard about from this iPhone4
IF you were actually able to do that.

5 & 6 Dont really merit responses.

1. Live wallpapers (well at least most of them) consume 1% or less of your battery. it's really a non issue. I prefer the jellyfish one off the Samsung Galaxy S myself. Yes there are some that kill it (mario brothers) but there are a lot of really nice onces that don't.

2. Ironically, the main thing I use flash for is to listen to a radio station that has yet to be made available as an app (and it cant be found in another app either). Android's browser allows you to set flash to load on demand, which is really nice.

4. It's efficient and it works well, but I still like that I can get stuff at a glance through widgets. (side note, you wouldn't believe how many people don't get the concept of an app drawer. they think EVERYTHING ...

I'm sorry I didn't make my self clear enough what I meant to say was. I loaded several pages up side by side with his phone and he was mad because his phone was way slower. It's not like that for all of them but when you say your 3.whatever a second sounds kind of high for the AT&T network. Maybe Wifi would have been a clear thing to state in that sentence if you were using Wifi because you are falsely saying that AT&T goes that high on there 3G network.

So what you're telling me is- you don't actually know how fast AT&T's 3G network is. In fact, you know so little about AT&T's network you believe that someone still only pulling half of the theoretical maximum on AT&T's network is going so fast they must be using WiFi. Right. 🙄

AT&T's 3G Network supports 7.2Mbps in a lot of major cities now, including Charlotte.

Where it doesn't support 7.2Mbps, it supports ~3Mbps.

The iPhone is the quintessential technological version of the battered wife syndrome. While its characteristics are aesthetically pleasing, the overall advantages can be over rated in the end.

You android lovers are delusional and don't listen. Yes your complex phones are capable of doing way more! I understand that. The problem is I'm not a nerd, or a computer geek. I like fast and simple. The iPhone is exactly that. Fast and simple! I bought the EVO 4G and the iPhone 4 because I wanted flash. The EVO 4 currently has flash lite and it worked on the sites that I frequent that didn't work on the iPhone. I was amazed!! I quickly fell in love with the web browsing capabilities! Also all the apps that apple won't allow was great to have without having to jailbreak. When it came to the camera and video, hands down, not even in the same league, iPhone is clearly better.
