So what? I think it was clever. Besides, they didn't twist this site's arm.

Phonescoop is becoming a bunch of sellouts.

Sellouts? We're not allowed to have any fun?

Obviously T-Mobile sent it to us in a jokey (wink wink, nudge nudge) manner. We thought it was funny and shared the joke with you.

How is that selling out?

Besides, if T-Mobile is going to offer what is normally a $200 phone for free, that's a pretty big deal to people who are on a tight budget.

What T-Mobile customer doesn't want a chance to get a new phone for free?

Claiming someones a sellout from free unpaid advertising is just silly.

Thanks for the feedback.

We debated it, but chose to run it because we thought people would want to know. If I were considering signing up or renewing with T-Mobile, I'd want to know about a big one-day sale coming up. (Especially if I were shopping for a Father's Day gift this week.) The rumor is that it will be very a significant sale with big discounts.

Hey Rich, would you consider yourself, Eric, and Phillip doing a weekly podcast?

I listen to Android Central's podcast regularly.

I thought it was a very appropriate thing to post. My only complaint is not knowing what the tie looked like. ๐Ÿคจ

This just in, everything goes on sale everywhere on father's day! OMG! ๐Ÿ™‚

P.S. For some reason after reading this I now want to buy my father a tie, not a phone.

Doesn't buying your father a tie for fathers day imply that your pist @ him?

That "AT&T wants customers to become unpaid network testers" post would come back to haunt you. ๐Ÿคฃ

Just like any other site they sent this 'package' to.

Yes, and good for T-Mobile. They were the first ones to send out neckties for fathers day, so they get free press until it becomes old and non-news. That's the way the world works.
