Google learns what a "conflict of interest" is.

Memo to Google: it's pretty clear- you're running a competing smartphone platform which you're funding through advertising.

Apple sees it as a conflict of interest for you to be related to the monetization for Apple's developers.

Indeed. But money is money...

Nice of Apple to officially forbid a competitor to pay them to advertise. ;)

Oh don't worry, Apple is already under investigation by the government.

Honestly, Google's been pretty two faced with their relationship with Apple, calling them a 'partner' to their face but a 'competitor' behind closed doors.

Apple has caught on. Despite Google's "feel good vibe," Apple doesn't trust them. They're smart for cutting the cord on Google's advertising monopoly- advertising is a major factor in Apple's platform strength, and they don't want it in the hands of a competitor.

Maybe you remember back in 2007 and 2008 Google CEO Eric Schmidt's take on the iPhone/Google relationship in relation to those Droid ads.

They're claiming the same thing here.

Did you read the whole article. The ads were a way for developers to make money, and gather data for later developments. Before you speak, think first instead of popping off the mouth and looking like a jackckck a2222.

Apple's still allowing 3rd party advertisers. Just not ones owned by their competitors. 🙄

So in other words, you're wrong. 😕
