I don't like it because they all have to be Verizon with the exception of one out of the 20 can be another phone.

Can you say flop? Business' can not and will not have the time to find out what service their clients have in order to use Verizon's group talk when they can just get group talk through landline company's, Cisco, skype, etc.

Business often know who they pay for their phone service. So your argument is confusing. The service is for keeping contact with their own employees.

Well keeping in contact with your own employee's is very limited was point to begin with, thanks for proving out limited this is and how its not going to work.

In the case if everyone is on one company then M2M will be good enough. Business' call a array of other people they need to perform group conference calls with, I.E. clients.

You can not possibly always know what kind of phone your client may have, but you need to conference call them and also have lawyers on the phone, Firms making/doing business with other firms and etc.

Most small business' have corporate email exchange, even small business'. They also have landlines so with the existing landline it will be just easier to have cisco networking since most company's are ...

This is meant for businesses that already have business phones through verizon, or families who like screaming at each other across the country.

How it works is like conference calling works. you dial a 800 number, enter a password, and then you can talk with multiple people.

I think this is just meant as a service like this, but instead of you dealing with a third party company to do it, or type in crazy multiple phone numbers every time, you can get the conference number through verizon.

I understand that, but what I was saying is not going to be a success. Verizon fails at innovation. They always come up with something thats just not that good. It subpar but its a let down only because I have been waiting years for Verizon to come up with SOMETHING INNOVATING!!! they fail everytime.

Verizon is a services company, not a product company.

Their reason for existing is to provide a network and features for that network that keep their customers happy, which they do.

As far as innovative, I'd say their marketing team is currnetly one of the best in the business. It singlehandedly took android from a geek thing to something that the average consumer has an idea about

Yeah, with the help of T-mobile and google themselves.

Name me one ground breaking thing that Verizon has done?

Don't get me wrong I CLEARLY UNDERSTAND the provide service and not a product. But what game changing service have the brought forth?

The only good thing Verizon can say is stability. They have been consistent with providing service and having a good network. Their plans are a mirror image damn near of AT&T. They have not brought forth any feature such has m2m, option to purchase your phone in monthly payments such has T-mobile, or anything. What have they done?

ONCE AGAIN I REPEAT I'M not saying they are a bad company. I'm just saying they have not brought nothing new to the table new in since forever. Other company's...

Isn't that just grand though? They are smart enough to let everyone else take the risk of financial lost and because they are so prestigious; if the risk works, they can adopt it. That's called utilizing an intelligent business format. Verizon's marketing team is very effective. They hurt at&t's coverage credibility. They made DROID a household name. Also they parasite other companies by taking what works.

Their Droid campaign is pretty innovative. Tmobile was trying to market android as this "personalize you" device. Verizon went terminator.

For technology, they were the first ones to go with EVDO. Sprint, the other major CDMA player, went with EVDV, which allowed data and voice at the same time, but was significantly more expensive and less efficient with bandwidth. By going EVDO, they were able to get a 3g footprint (and when sprint switched they were too) significantly larger.

They're not the most innovative company, but they've done quite a bit. Their Core is network consistence and coverage. This means less innovation on anything not directly related to that.

They're also the fastest company to build out new technology. (...

It worked, did it not?

It was REALLY smart. Droid is Stickier than "android" was.

Paying royalties to a celebrity/team to market your product is pretty standard. They paid for a name, one that was so effective, it even has CS from other companies inadvertently calling their android offerings "droids"

It is a shame to see such "intelligent" people who apparently can't read. Verizon is offering TWO different services, one is a family service and the contacts have to be Verizon Wireless numbers with the exception of one. The second is a general GROUP service, and you can have up to seven different groups with 20 numbers each. The reason for the family serivce is, each contact you make in a group counts against your minutes/text, etc. Imagine having a teenager using the group service for social networking, running up your 700 minute family share plan in just a day or two. By requiring the numbers to be Verizon Wireless, then the family sessions will be UNLIMITED MINUTES OR TEXTS.

People and Businesses who use the GROUP session typica...

didn't it say that the family contact is the only one that you could have 1 contact outside of verizon and the Group Contact for business can have cell, wireline, and even international numbers as part of it.

Well obviously, Disrespect cannot read. Let me clear it up for you. With the family group contact, you can have all the numbers on ur account and 1 additional non VZW number. This is intended for FAMILIES. Then there is group contact with family which includes the same as the family group but u may also set up to 7 additional groups up to 20 numbers each. Now in these 7 groups, u can use ANY number, VZW, another cellular carrier's number, land line or international numbers which would appeal more for small businesses. So this seems to me to be pretty innovating as it appeals to both families and small businesses therefore u have no argument.
