The rep told me that they will not preorder until the end of next week of the next.

This is incorrect. I work for Best Buy, and they started today. I am for the confusion.

I went to the mobile center on my lunch break ready to buy and that is what I was told.

So, what exactly do I tell them when I go back tomorrow and say, "This is incorrect". I know all the articles say!, but Tiger Town Best Buy in Opelika, Alabama, told me today that they have not started preordering yet. If they were I would have not come online and said they weren't.

As long as they carry Sprint in there store, then they are able to pre-sell. They can look through our employee tools, so find the pre-order. If there is any doubt, please email me at: kyle.cochran@bestbuy.com, I will be able to send them the pre-order.

Yep, I went in yesterday and pre ordered myself at my local BB. You pay a deposit of $50, which they then give you directly back in a gift card. You are guaranteed an Evo on June 4th this way.

Warshak,
I don't know if Kyle got back to you so I'll see if I can help. Do they carry sprint in their store? If not, they will be unable to do the pre-order as they will not be receiving the phone. If they are a Sprint carrier, they will have the phone and I can see no reason for them to not be able to get a pre-order for you. I will see if I can get some info around this issue. I'm really sorry that you've had to go through so much trouble just to get the phone.

Yes that is the first thing I noticed. They have taken my name and told me that they would hold it, but I want to pay $$$$$$$$ for the guarantee not someone's word. I am going to keep going back because I am patient, but I need this situation rectified; I want my phone.

Remember Tiger-Town Best Buy, Auburn-Opelika, Alabama. One hour and forty-five minutes from a 4G city. I do not want to, but I will go there to order my phone, when I have the time of course.

Warshak,
I looked all over the place in my employee sites and saw nothing about holding pre-sells on the Evo. I'm sorry. 😢

No matter how much money i save at Radioshack or Best Buy because they are trying to sucker you into there store to buy more stuff. I will not buy a EVO phone from those two places. Sprint rep's know more about those phones then any of those people will ever know!! Radioshack is looking for there commish and dont care about you. And Best Buy will just send you out the door with the phone without any help! So go to the Sprint store and pass on all the rest. You will be much more happier in the long run. 😲

LOL, you must be one of those pushy, commissioned Sprint sales associates I was talking about in one of the other posts. Myself and many others that I know went to Best Buy and they know just as much, if not more, about the phones than the ppl at the Sprint stores. It's funny how you guys will try to sell a Touch Pro 2 to a 64 year old woman who told you she just wants a phone to answer and end calls, so you can add all these attachments to help your commission. Oh and don't forget about how you guys have to sell discontinued phones to ppl so you can get rid of them. Best Buy has taken good care of me since I've purchased my Instinct two years ago and I will continue to buy all my phones there and let everyone I know to save money and go to ...

That may have been your experience, but when I worked at Best Buy, there were regularly people in the Mobile dept. that were not mobile associates. If any mobile retailer is commission-driven, it would have to be Best Buy. Selling phones from 3+ carriers limits what one can know about the specifics of those carriers. I am a Sprint wireless consultant. I will not sell the wrong phones to the wrong people.

...seriously, shut up.

The forums are for intelligent dialog, not over-reactive childish comments like yours. If you need the help of Sprint or Radio Shack then you probably shouldn't be buying this phone to begin with.

No Sprint, Best Buy (or Radio Shack) rep is likely to have enough time or patience to teach people (that don't already know what they are buying) how to use this phone.

I don't really care what you do for a living, but I wonder how you would like someone to take up all your time at work answering mundane questions and preventing you from (a) moving on the the next customer that wishes you would leave already and (b) possibly earning more money which is what we all NEED to get out of our jobs, regardless of what they...

OP-
Do you have any idea how big of a fool you look like 🤣 ? I work for a best buy and I can tell you, YES I will recommend accessories for every person that walks through the door of a best buy to buy a phone. Part of my job is to deliver a complete package. For example, with a phone like the EVO 4, one would be a fool to walk away with out a shield for the screen. However, I have never once attempted to force any additional accessories on a phone. I simply educate them on what I think fits their needs. If they say no, I move on. What I refuse to do is have a customer of mine come back and say, "well he never told me about that." That is unacceptable. Now like every store, there are bad employees. No company is 100% perfect on hiring q...
