Facebook for Android still doesn't let me TAG people in pictures I upload, and I don't get notifications for wall posts or replies! I've got to have e-mail notifications just to know that I got a comment, then I gotta check it, click the link, open the browser and respond through the BROWSER instead of the actual APPLICATION! Don't update 'messaging' things, focus on what Blackberry's have already man.

I'll never understand why email isn't good enough. You already get email notifications from people on social networking sites, why not just get email straight from the people, rather than having to click on a link, sign in, and so on,. . .I just don't get it, why isn't email good enough???

It's not that e-mail isn't good enough. I'm a photographer and computer repair technician and getting e-mails on my phone are EXTREMELY important to keep in touch with clients or communication through people in their offices. Of course it'll always be a more professional form of communication rather than text... But i'm talking about an APPLICATION that's MEANT to function this way; avoid cramping my e-mail space with notification that i'll be alerted of when I sign ON to facebook through the browser on the phone or the computer regardless. I've set my primary e-mail address as my g-mail address that I never use so I kno whenever I get a G-Mail notification, that it's a facebook prompt. Anyway, the point is, when I had my blackberry, any tim...

Get a different FB app, then. There are plenty, and the other TWO I use let me know when I get a message, and I reply, and it works well. Do some research photoboy.

I actually even purchased BLOO and still don't get any notifications from comments/wall posts. Messages like INBOX is one thing, but when someone posts on my wall, i'd like to receive a notification for them. Which other app gives notifications for wall posts? I'd like to know and gladly download it.

Old geezer? I'm 30! All social networking has done is caused us to live in a much much less personal world. People would rather talk to each other on MySpace & Facebook rather than in person or on the phone. We live in such an inpersonal world.

With facebook, you have a system that reminds you of important events, like birthdays, holidays, and social events. Facebook also allows users to post pictures and communicate with people they might not ordinarily talk to. it's kinda like a more personal version of an internet chat room, where you can IM lots of people all at once.

...it concerns me how addictive this particular media has become to some of its users. My sister and her friends spend countless hours on farmville and petville doing imaginery things. It's also annoying to constantly receive friend requests from people you don't know and would never talk to in real life. Just my $.02.

Yeah.. farmville is like virtual crack or something.. and people said I had a "problem" playing starcraft. lol.

IMO, facebook was a lot better when it was just for college students because it was like an actual Networking site. I can understand why they went to a larger audience.. but the games and the like.. it's too much like myspace now, and a lot of people joined facebook to get away from myspace.

I think both MySpace and Facebook are part of the reasons we live in such an inpersonal world. People seem more interested in what's going on with MySpace & Facebook than the REAL world.

I'm 27 and I agree with you. I still consider myself young at heart except on issues like this. I use TXT and Facebook etc but I'm growing tired of the constant typing and searching and clicking just to have a so-called "social life". I used to TXT all the time and spend hours emailing, MySpacing, Facebooking...I even had 3 email accounts! I started cutting it down by canceling MySpace and dropping one of my email accounts but I still practically put wear and tear on phones because of countless text messages. Just friggin' call me!

I'm so tired of text messages that I've 'bout quit replying to them. I've even sent messages to these people and their excuse is "I don't have time" Well duh, you have plenty of time to write a text or...

I agree. I think it does get a bit impersonal at times. I think the social networking sites should be used as added bonus for keeping in contact, not a primary one. That's the way I use it. I'm not one of those facebook users who has 2,000 so-called "friends". I keep it restricted to family, close friends and acquaintances. But I always call my friends and family and see most of them on an ordinary basis.

But sometimes facebook can come in handy when it comes to certain situations. Let's say someone you knew from your old high school adds you after they seen you at your high school reunion. You weren't really that close with the guy but you don't wanna be rude either as he wasn't exactly an enemy. But you don't see yourself actually call...

I hate the emails myself because then I have to spend time deleting all the emails from all the facebook alerts. When I had my blackberry, I liked the fact I got facebook alerts that were not connected to my email in anyway.

i miss that on my Droid, so I am with the original poster. The update was pointless and Facebook for Android is still useless. It lacks the needed tools to really make it a worthwile application.

I spend most of my time sending important emails, I don't have time to look through 50 others emails that are facebook notifications. So that's why it's not good enough in my opinion.
