I just don't understand how the federal government make BILLIONS of dollars off of property they don't really own, they don't build, they don't develop or maintain and then have the audacity to charge insane taxes on cell phone plans upwards of 18%.

This amazes me and it goes FAAAR beyond controlling and keeping the airwaves safe. It is sheer greed at it's worst and an example of a government taking incredible advantage of its people.

Dropping off the grid kind of defeats the purpose of complaining about insane taxes the government places on cell phones while charging millions of dollars for people to be able to use the air.

Honestly, it is a sad comment on the world when even air is priced above what the average person can afford.

How old are you? What do you not understand? One cannot do ANYTHING in this world without paying taxes. The freest individuals are homeless persons. Everyone else is owned by the government. You pay income taxes, property taxes, sales taxes etc... You say you own your home? Try not paying the taxes on it and watch how fast the Feds snatch it up to auction it off. You say you own yourself? Miss your income taxes a few years and watch how quick they garnish your wages, seize your assets and possibly lock you in prison. Don't be naive or any more than you have to be.

Think of it this way: they're selling the exclusivity of those airwaves. Otherwise, you have tons of conflicting devices on the same band with neither device working right.

It's not perfect, but someone has to regulate the waves.
