For those claiming the suit has no merit

As a VZW employee I can tell you it does, many of us are glad these type of things happen because having to spend a large sum on money on a lawsuit is one of the few things that will get VZW to fix problems.

The Megabyte billing has been a problem since it launched, our internal idea process is flooded with reps giving ideas of how to fix the problem and cut down on the constant calls about it (of course instead the company just picked to make a data plan required...)

Because of this suit VZW is going to have to change something to make sure only legitimate uses of the services get billed to customers, it something that should have been common sense and in place from the begining, but the people that make decisions in VZW only think ab...

If you really are an employee obviously you are a disgruntled one! I obviously do not know what happened to make you dislike the company that makes it possible for you to pay your bills and live but maybe you ought to look for employment else where.

The truth is that I ahve tested this on my line and my wifes line on several occasions and have never been charged 1.99 unless I navigated past the web landing page or unless I have launched GIN.

The main problem is that most customers do not hold themselves accountable. Most likely the truth is that they did launch the browser and they also did go past the landing page but it was likely by accident. Since it was not intentional most people feel like they should not have to pay. Tha...

I worked for Verizon for 3 years, and I can't tell you how many times I took a call where the customer was requesting to speak to a supervisor because the rep couldn't explain why they had to pay the 1.99 for the MB of usage they "didn't incur" on their wireless bill that month (and the last 5).

9 times out of 10, the customer was just unwilling to take responsibility for something that had been explained to them several times as I could see in account notation.

The rest of the small percentage was just as you said... they left the landing page by mistake.

I am slightly disgruntled when it comes to some parts of the company. Not agreeing with a company policy is not a reason to look for another job. We have internal processes to suggest ways for the company to do things better, and when many employees are suggesting fixes to this specific item, it means there is a problem. The problem isnt being addressed and this law suit will help get it addressed.

While there are many customers that claimed they did not do anything, but had multiple data sessions over the course of the month or sessions that transfered 100+kb of data, there are many customers that get charged for 15kb of data done of the day their phone is activated. It was a data and timing amount that came up too often to be coincident...

yes, see my other posts in this topic I posted a scenario that happened to me where I was charged for something that could not have happened, if the charges were only for the scenarios VZW says can be charged.
