I'm beginning to wonder when these clever phone names will run out. Phones used to be called by forgettable model numbers. (Sgh-T707 or whatever)
Now, every phone has some actual name like "Shine" or "Tour" or "Highlight". I suppose there are lots and lots of words in the English language to be used, but you'd think it has to end somewhere.
...
All you have to do is add a number to the clever name in most cases. But I think eventually all the good names will be gone. I don't care much for a lot of the names.

I still think the G1 should've been called the "Commander" as in Commander Data from Star Trek. I mean really. It has Android and Commander Data was an Android. It's a no brainer. They missed the boat on that one. 😁
...
Commander Data doesn't sound like a device that would sell millions. besides im pretty sure star trek wouldnt just allow the name to be used without a hefty amount of change that T-Mobile doest wanna pay.
...
Actually, I did not include "Data" in junction with "Commander" as in calling it The "Commander Data". The "Commander" as a single entity is what I was jesting on But technically yes you are correct, If it were called The Commander, It would be borderline reference anyway since it is ssociated with Android and I guess someone in Hollywood would try to sue. It kind of takes the fun out of humorous catchy names.

i wonder if they ran out of words....are we going to have t-mo urine, att ****, verizon vomit, and sprint snot?
what's with the name game anyway....

one might ask when the millions of models of toothbrushes will end. just when i think a new type of toothbrush couldn't possibly exist, you see a commercial sporting a breakthrough in new toothbrush technology. i suppose if they can think of a different type of toothbrush after millions have been thought of, then they will surely continue to think up new names (mostly adjectives or verbs) for new phones.

Has anyone noticed that this phone on T-mobile's Website requires the 24.99 Data Package for smartphones. This Phone is not even a Smartphone.
...
"a TouchWiz phone that packs quad-band GSM/EDGE and dual-band 1700/2100MHz UMTS/HSDPA radios. It comes with a 3 megapixel camera with video capture, music player and a microSD slot for up to 16GB of extra storage. The Highlight also has Bluetooth, GPS, and T-Mobile's revised web2go Internet services, which feature a new, finger-friendly user interface. It also has an accelerometer, and supports both portrait and landscape use."
Sounds like the features of a smartphone to me. Btw: Soon, txt messages and/or internet packages will become mandatory on all plans 39.99 and up.... in my opinion. It starts with the data packages on all smartphones and moves over to "I cant sell a phone unless i add a feature" - a employee at a AT&T store near by....
